Hello!! My name is Cyndi. I live in North Central Massachusetts. I have been married for over 25 years. I enjoy spending time with my husband Bill, my children and my grandchildren. I love to do crafts, crochet, make flower arrangements, wedding albums, etc., (basically any craft using my imagination in creating someting beautiful), picnicing in the park, walking along the beach, watching a sunrise or sunset, learning more about my computer, making web pages, talking to my old and new friends, both online and off, and listening to "oldies" songs (because they bring back some wonderful memories).
I have 5 children, Valerie,(from my first marriage), who now has 2 sons, Brandon and Shane; Billie Jeanne, who is the mother of Jasmine, and Riley; Amy, who is the mother of MiKayla and Isaiah; Becky, who is the mother of Tahlor; and Nathan.
It's a wonderful feeling being a grandparent, a feeling that you just can't explain, it's something you have to experience for yourself. I love it!
Currently, I am working as a switchboard operator/receptionist at an assisted living community here, in the city where I live. I started working there in August of 2001, with just 22 to 25 hours a week on my schedule. In a very short time, I've worked my way up to working there almost full time, doing various tasks for the administrator, creating schedules for various departments, working on time card scheduled hours and actual hours worked, making follow up calls, transferring calls coming in, sending faxes, organizing packets to hand to potential residents and their families, assisting residents, creating activity calendars for our Adult Day Health program, working in the Adult Day Care Unit one day a week, assisting in the kitchen when I'm needed, greeting the families and visitors of the residents, and working very closely with the administrator and financial executive, the LPN on duty, the RN on duty and all the CNA's. I truly enjoy getting up every morning knowing I will be going to work at such a warm and friendly environment. I was looking for a position in the Human Service Field, but when this came along, it more or less fell into my lap, I knew this was the perfect position for me, and I'm fulfilling my wants and needs and also assisting others with their needs. In early December, I was called into the adminisrtators office, and was told that I was doing a wonderful job, that I've come a long way since my first few weeks there, and was offered a raise. I'm happy to tell you that these raises aren't given at a 3 month review, they're normally given at the end of 6 months. I was informed that I'll be given another raise at the end of my 6 month review also. How often does that happen? It made me feel so very good, knowing that someone saw what I was capable of doing, and that they approved of my performance. I've found my niche, and I'm staying here. Hopefully I'll work my way up to being Administrative Assistant some day.
Bill is the outdoors type, he'd rather be outside doing anything than to be inside. He likes to keep busy doing yard work, etc., or fixing my car. His hobbies include hunting (deer, turkey, pheasant, etc.), tending our vegetable garden, and best of all, fixing things that break in here! He is, by trade, an auto tech, specializing in the electrical and computerized side of mechanics. He also drives a wrecker part time. There isn't much he can't fix, and if he can't figure it out, he knows someone who can. He is very handy to have around.
I have met so many wonderful people here on the net, most of whom I have not met in person (yet) and those I have met. I have learned so much from each of them. Each one holds a special place in my heart and I consider them an extended part of our family. Below you will see there are 3 poems, which I wrote, and they are dedicated to the very special people in my life, who have given me more than words can ever say. They have shown me what the power of love can really do. They have given me so much love, support and understanding. I will forever be indebted to them for everything they have done for me!
I love to make new friends and believe in treating everyone as we want to be treated, with respect and consideration, honesty, trust and love. I believe that in order to have a friend, you have to be a friend. I accept people for who they are, not for what I want them to be.
I hope you drop by often as my pages are constantly changing and I add new ones often.

Just in case you're wondering,
this is us, taken in 1995.
Don't we look like the happy couple?

If I call you friend,
You will always share a piece of my heart.
I will always pride myself,
To always be true to you.
As much as I need friends,
So must you.
I will also share a place in your heart,
To be there whenever you need me.
I may not be there in flesh,
But I will always be there in spirit.
I will cope with your moods,
And try to understand your needs.
When you are happy,
I will laugh with you.
As sadness overwhelms you,
We will cry together.
If you feel down and kicked,
I will pick you up and brush away your doubts.
When you think you can't continue,
I will remind you that you can.
As you become discouraged,
I will boost your ego high.
At times when you wish to talk,
My attention will be all yours.
Being a friend I don't take lightly,
It's my desire, never a chore.
At times when you must mourn,
I shall mourn with you.
If you need some silence, yet not be alone,
We will sit together in the peace of quiet.
When you wish to play,
You will always have a playmate.
When you feel on top of the world,
I’ll pat your back and tell you, you deserve to be.
You will never be completely alone,
A piece of me will always be with you.
One thing I can always give,
Is the gift of friendship for you to accept.
Allow our friendship to make you smile,
Bring joy to your life as you have to mine.
When you become confused and lose your way,
Let me guide you in the right direction.
Lean on me when you need support,
Let me share your sorrow and pain.
What good can a friend really be,
If you can't understand we will always care.
If I call you friend,
You will always know,
A friend you have in me.

For Whatever Reason
By: Cyndi
Why did this happen? How did it come to be?
Is there a reason behind it that we cannot see?
The bond of our friendship, can all this be real?
It can't be explained, it's something we feel.
For whatever the reason, each other we've found
Was it destiny or fate or something more profound?
The friendship we have, grows stronger each day
There's a "special bond between us" we could say.
What exactly drew us together, we may never know
But in our hearts the seeds of friendship did grow.
We confide in each other, without judgement or fear,
Miles may seperate us, but in our hearts we are near.
We have the ability to see when each other is blue,
Comforting and reassuring words that are true.
To some they may be just words on a screen,
But we know better, we know what they mean.
We're here for each other when the going gets tough
We help carry the load when it gets too rough.
You'll always hold a special place in my heart
You've touched my soul, right from the start.
Whatever the reason, we found each other that day
Friendship forever, that's the way it will stay.
The bond that we have is more precious than gold
"Those who have friends are rich" I am told.
Our friendship has a very special and undying love
A love I believe came from the heavens above.
For whatever the reason, you'll always be there
In a special place in my heart to love and to care.
Always and Forever
By: Cyndi
How do I explain this feeling?
A bond so deep and true,
An emotion that I've never had,
Until the day I've met you.
I've had so many other "friends"
But never felt this way.
You're someone I can confide in,
And, there my secrets stay.
It does't matter if we're together
Or even far apart,
There's a part of you within me
Growing deep within my heart.
Our bond is like none other
So difficult to describe.
It's truly like a magic spell
No doctor can prescribe.
You're the one who understands me
You sense when I am blue.
You know just what to say
You know what I'm going through.
It's more than a best friend feeling
It's a much stronger kind of love.
It's the kind of love I want
The kind I need more of.
Always and forever
In my heart you'll always be.
The very special kind of friend
That you are to me.
Shining Star
By: Cyndi
I have a very special friend
Who has touched a part of me.
This very special friend of mine
Has touched my soul, you see.
Through gentle words of love,
And the understanding of me,
This very special friend of mine
In my heart will always be.
We have so many things in common
But still we're worlds apart.
The people that we love,
Share different parts of our heart.
This very special friend of mine
Has completed my whole life.
My friend has put a frame around
The picture I call life.
My life was nothing but a picture
Without a perfect frame,
My life is so much better now,
It will never be the same.
This very special friend of mine
Has made my life complete.
Without this very special friend
I'd have given up in defeat.
This is for my special friend
And you know who you are.
For you'll always be so close to me
My ever shining star.
