"Oh man, it feels SO good to move and walk again! If I sat in that bed any longer, my legs would have crumbled like a potato chip!" Zach said as he stood up for the first time in 2 weeks.
"Yea, I know what you mean. I'd glad I can talk again. Although I don't think my throat will be the same way ever again." I said, trying to twist my arm, but it hurt when I went too far. Luckily, it wasn't the arm I use to throw with.
"Maybe now we can get off this island for once. We've been in here for 3 chapters already, and this place wasn't exactly kind to us." Megan said, still remembering the encounter with Kataki. It had been about two weeks since that encounter. I should be thankful I lived to tell about it. I decided to customize my new Seadra using Josh's TM kit, and gave it some powerful TMs. When we were released from the hospital, we headed to our boat and rode off. This time, we didn't have any interruptions.
"So, where should we head next? We could head to Sunburst Island, or we could travel to Zeta Island. Sunburst has a Gym, but Zeta doesn't. So which one?" Josh asked.
"Which one is closer?" Zach asked Josh.
"Uhh, Zeta. Why?"
"Because, it seems SOMEONE forgot to fill the gas tank."
"Eh heh. My bad." Josh said with a big fake grin, and a sweatdrop coming down from his head.
So, off we were to Zeta. Unfortunately, it was about 50 miles away. We had barely enough gas to get there. To conserve fuel, Zach decided to drive a bit slower.
"Hey, I got an idea. Why not let our Pokémon out. It's been a while since they had any excercise." Megan suggested.
"Great idea! All right guys! Come on out!" I said as I released Raichu, Flareon, Seadra & Beedrill. Graveler was too heavy to stay on the boat.
Josh, Megan & Zach decided to do the same thing. Poliwhirl, Vulpix, Nidorina, Nidorino, Pidgeot, Butterfree, Scyther, Pinsir, Lapras, Dratini, & Machop were all called out to enjoy the heat. Pidgeot, Scyther, Butterfree, Beedrill & Zubat decided to relax by flying ever so briskly. Lapras was having some fun in the water, as was Poliwhirl, until it was pulled under. Poliwhirl came back up and saw Seadra giggling, so it sprayed the fish with Water Gun. The two started pumping each other with Water Gun.
"Oh great, not again!" Josh said, "Poliwhirl! Return now!"
"You too Seadra!" I said, "This Seadra must be a prankster."
Vulpix & Flareon were relaxing with Machop & Pinsir when it started raining. Quickly the two fire types ran into the cabin. Zeta Island was nearby, so Zach hit the gas a bit. We started to hear some thunder & saw some lightning, so we recalled our Flying & Water types. We reached the dock, and Josh tied up the boat. Megan & I tried to get our Fire-types back in their Poké Balls, but they wanted to stay out.
"Come on, if you absorb this rain, you'll get seriously weak!" I said.
"They don't wanna go in. Hey, I know how they can stay out and not get wet!" Megan said.
Quickly she grabbed hers & my coats and put them around the two, and tied the arms together. Although with the hoods, their tails still sticked out, I guess it would have to do. We quickly ran out of the boat and ran towards the Pokémon Center. The Pokémon ran along the inner sidewalk, along all the canopys & dry areas. It took us around 15 minutes, and in no time at all, the small shower turned into a huge rainstorm. We reached the Pokémon Center and slammed our fists against the door for someone to let us in. Nurse Joy eventually came out and opened the door. Immediately we all ran inside and caught our breath. The Pokémon wiped themselves off.
"What are you doing out there? Didn't you see the storm coming in?" Joy asked.
"Yea, but we were out at sea and couldn't get to the dock in time. Why are the lights off?" I asked.
"The power went out a while ago. All the buildings have no power except for that old warehouse over there" Joy said, pointing to an old, abandoned, warehouse with its lights on. We needed to rest right away, so Joy got out some bread & meats and made us some sandwiches. I'd rather have a BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger, but that's not exactly plausible with the power out. Zach got some Pokémon Food & fed the Pokémon. "So what's with that building? Does it have some sort of separate power source or something?" Megan wondered. "It was abandoned," Joy said before yawning, "It suddenly became used again a few days ago. Well, I'm going back to bed. After you're finished, go to bed. Understand?" We all nodded & ate our sandwiches. Joy went into the hall to get some sleep. I finished up the last of my warm milk and relaxed in my wet seat. Zach thought we should all get to bed. Megan wanted to change into something dry. Josh didn't really feel like getting up. The Pokémon were still active and wanted to play a little. Zach told them to do it tomorrow morning. I, however, was still fixated on the warehouse. It couldn't be a business firm, and it didn't look like it could be any sort of real business down there. Then I made my decision.
"I think we should check that building out!" I said, "I wanna know what's in there!"
"Yea right! I say we should stay in here where it's dry" Megan said.
"Aw, come on, where's you're sense of adventure? Let's go! Come on Zubat, Raichu & Flareon. We're going!" I said.
Flareon, Raichu & Zubat looked at one another, sighed, then came over to me. We ran out to see why that thing had its power on. Zach, Josh & Megan just stood there watching, until Zach sighed and followed me. Pinsir ran after him. Eventually Josh & Megan decided to join us as well. The warehouse was right by the dock. When I got to it, I tried to bang the doors open, but it opened before I could hit the door. Me & my Pokémon walked inside and saw a long hallway lit up. I walked down it while Zach, Megan & Josh tried to follow me.
"Please explain to me why were are in this building and not the Pokémon Center?" Megan asked.
"Because I wanna see what's up." I said, walking down the hallway.
"Then why are we here?" Josh asked.
"I wish I knew" said Zach.
Finally, we reached the end of the hallway. There was nothing there except a tall set of stairs, so we began to climb it. It was easy for Zubat to get up there since it can fly. We, on the other hand, had to take the long way up. We finally reached the top in a little under a half an hour. I didn't realize how big this warehouse was. Anyway, when we got to the top, there were a pair of big doors. We looked inside, and saw a huge room. Suddenly, the door opened. The doors seemed to have a reddish glow to them when they opened. We were freaked out about this a little, but I walked in with confidence. The entire room was lit up like a stadium. Josh, Zach & Megan walked in eventually. When we got near the center, the lights went out.
"Huh? What's going on?" I asked.
Suddenly, we all heard clapping. We looked to our right to find the source.
"Well done, I was wondering how long it would take you to get here."
"Ack! It can't be!" Josh shouted.
A light snapped on and brightened the mystery figure.
"So good to see you again."
"Ka..Ka...KATAKI!" we all shouted.
It was Kataki! He was back!
"I knew we shouldn't have come here!" Josh said.
"It's been a while since our last encounter. I want you to meet a new Pokémon of mine. I need some sparring partners to test his strength, so I chose you to be my guinea pigs." Kataki said with a smile as he snapped his fingers.
Just then, a large, cat-like creature, at least 7 feet tall, floated down from the ceiling. His eyes were blood red as was his aura.
"Allow me to introduce my newest Pokémon. His name is Mewtwo."
"Wha? Mewtwo!?" I said, opening my Pokédex, "What is this thing?"
"No data found. Pokémon not registered."
"Just great, and I don't think they're here to have tea with us." Zach said.
"I am actually surprised that you two are still here. You're the first two I've injured and came out alive. Although, I did go easy on you last time." Kataki said.
Zach & I just gulped. Just great, what did I get us into. I didn't have time to figure out, because Kataki pointed his finger at us and said one simple phrase that made us shudder.
"Kill them."
Mewtwo nodded and powered up, shooting out about 5 red energy blasts. We tried to dodge, but the blasts were very fast. I dodged one by about a centimeter, while Josh & Megan fell down from avoiding two blasts. Zach fell down and missed one, but another was heading for him when Pinsir jumped up and took the blast. Despite being a Bug type, Pinsir was ready to fall down any second. Zach thanked his friend and returned it to his Poké Ball. We still recovered from the other blasts.
"Grrr. So you want to fight huh? I'll show you just how to fight!" I said, running at Mewtwo. I threw my fist at Mewtwo, but the Pokémon just slapped me away. Unfortunately, his slap was strong, sending me careening into the wall at least 20 feet away.
Zubat flew after the cat, fangs beared, but was slapped into the wall as well. In another room, I struggled to get up, and coughed up some blood as well. I wiped some blood off my cheek & chin, when Zubat landed on me. It too had blood on its face. Meanwhile, Raichu & Flareon decided to attack to get even. They launched their specialty attacks, but the bounced harmlessly off Mewtwo's barrier. Zach, Josh & Megan decided to up the ante by releasing all their other Pokémon, except for Scyther, Lapras, Poliwhirl & Dratini. Rhyhorn, Golem, Sandslash, Pidgeot, & Butterfree all came out and took battle ready positions. Machop decided to have the first strike, and leapt to attack. Mewtwo just used a Psychic attack to heave Machop across the room. Nidorino & Nidorina double-teamed Mewtwo, but their Tackles didn't work. Mewtwo flew after them and gave them both one strong punch in the neck, sending them flying faster than Machop did. Rhyhorn, Golem & Sandslash tried to use Earthquake against the cat, but Mewtwo just flew up and released some energy blasts, eletrocuting the ground types. Pidgeot flew after Mewtwo with blazing speed, but missed Mewtwo because it teleported. It appeared behind Pidgeot and blasted it with a small energy blast, making Pidgeot fall to the ground. Josh decided to use some other tactics.
"Butterfree! Use your Psybeam against it now!" Josh yelled.
"Beefree!" Butterfree yelled as it released a beam from its antennae. Mewtwo decided to do on of its own, and easily overpowered the bug's beam, sending the bug crashing into the ground.
"Just great! Vulpix! Toast it! Pichu! Electricute it!" Megan shouted.
The two Pokémon nodded and fired. Raichu & Flareon added some power to the blasts, but even the combined strength of the four types didn't matter. Mewtwo just crossed his arms, creating a barrier. When he un-crossed them, the blasts disappeared. The four Pokémon and three humans couldn't believe it. They had no idea what to do. Mewtwo decided to charge up a blast to kill them. All seemed lost until large rocks & small, sharp needles came out of nowhere and hit Mewtwo, sending the Pokémon crashing to the ground.
"It's gonna take a lot more than one slap to kill us" I said, with Zubat, Beedrill & Graveler standing by me.
"Oh really? Take care of them, Mewtwo!" Kataki yelled.
Mewtwo stood up and turned to face us. He didn't even have a scratch on him! Quickly he charged up and flew at us. Beedrill sent some more Pin Missles at Mewtwo, but the cat just blocked them with a barrier. I ran to the side to dodge it, but Zubat used its Supersonic waves to try & confuse Mewtwo. The cat grimaced a bit, and stopped. Graveler quickly ran at Mewtwo and tried to punch it, but Mewtwo regained its senses and blasted Zubat. With the waves gone, Mewtwo shook his head, then saw Graveler's assault. Graveler tried to use Mega Punch, but Mewtwo grabbed his fist and started squeezing it hard. Graveler fell down and cried out in pain.
"Oh no! Graveler! Beedrill! Use Agility to get in there and Twin Needle Mewtwo!"
Beedrill nodded, and sped up to attack. Mewtwo saw this, and slapped Beedrill the same way he did me across the floor, almost killing the bug. The Fire & Electric types tried to help, but some well-placed barriers blocked their assaults. Raichu, Pichu, Flareon & Vulpix tried once more, but Mewtwo used its barrier to reflect the attacks back at the Pokémon. The fire hit Raichu & Pichu, while Flareon & Vulpix got shocked. All of them fainted on contact. Quickly, all of us recalled our Pokémon. With no Pokémon left, we couldn't escape Mewtwo & Kataki.
"Hey wait! Zubat! Use your Smokescreen!" I said.
Zubat nodded weakly, and released a small cloud of smoke & dust. Mewtwo blew it away easy enough, but we were gone. Kataki noticed the door closing, and told Mewtwo to go after us. We had reached halfway down the hallway when Mewtwo destroyed the door and 1/3 of the hallway. It didn't take us long to reach the end, but there was nowhere to go. Mewtwo walked about 5 steps, stopped, and charged up its red aura. Just then, a large, red blast shot out of Mewtwo's body and headed straight for us. We tried to dodge somewhere, but it was impossible. The blast exploded around us, and sent us all out through the wall and down into the raging ocean.
"Well, this is as good a time as any. Lapras, Scyther! Let's go!" Zach shouted.
The water type splashed around in the sea and used Water Gun to power Megan & I down onto its back. Scyther flew down and caught Zach on its back, and Josh in its scythes, and put them on Lapras' back as well. As we struggled to get our breath, Mewtwo & Kataki looked down on us from above. Mewtwo was about to head out to finish the job, but Kataki stopped him.
"You've had enough fun. Time for these clowns to see some other action." Kataki said, picking up three PokéBalls and throwing them down.
Out of one Poké Ball came a large, jellyfish-like creature with at least 50 tentacles. Another popped out a large, blue, muscle-bound Pokémon with a spiral on its chest. The final Pokémon looked like a bat, with its arms & legs connected to its wings and a stinger on its tail. Quickly I pulled out my Pokédex.
"Poliwrath, the evolved form on Poliwhirl. It's strength is enormous and can easily outswim any human. Tentacruel is called the 'Gangster of the Sea' because of its attitude and its many tentacles. Gligar is a new Pokémon species, and is believed to be a relative of the Zubat family. Although it was not confirmed."
"Just great! This is all we need. Seadra, we need you now!" I shouted, releasing my fish.
"Poliwhirl! Let's go!" Josh shouted.
The four Water types faced each other while Scyther decided to dance with Gligar.
"All right Scyther! Use Agility to speed up & Cut that thing up!" Zach yelled.
Scyther powered up with Agility, then sped at Gligar. Gligar, however, blew away the bug with a quick Whirlwind. Then it flew after Scyther and bit its arm. Scyther reeled in pain for a few minutes, then was on the attack again. It tried to slice Gligar, but it did almost nothing to the Pokémon. All it got was a small scratch. Gligar flew up & dived at Scyther, smacking it towards us. Scyther regained its control and dived at Gligar. Using its tail spike, Gligar managed to inject poison into Scyther, then headbutted the sick Pokémon. Eventually Scyther fell down to the water, fainted.
"Hang in there Poliwhirl! Bubblebeam now!" Josh yelled out.
Poliwhirl was not doing so great against its evolved form. The big brusier wound up and punched Poliwhirl threw the water and into Lapras. Lapras tried to help out by using Ice Beam, but Poliwrath swam underwater and dodged it. Poliwhirl regained its bearings and headed underwater. It tried to fire bubbles at Poliwrath, but because of its great ability to swim, Poliwrath easily dodged it. Poliwhirl then swam down futher and tried Body Slamming Poliwrath, but the big toad grabbed it and gave a nice sharp kick in Poliwhirl's stomach area. Poliwrath decided to Seismic Toss Poliwhirl up through the water and into the air, then broke the surface and used Blizzard to freeze Poliwhirl in its tracks.
"Oh no! Poliwhirl!" Josh said.
"Come on Seadra! You can do it!" I shouted.
My newest Pokémon wasn't fairing much better. Tentacruel sent tentacle after tentacle at the sea horse, who tried dodging using Agility. It batted some away with Water Gun, but eventually a couple of them got in and smacked Seadra hard. Seadra then decided to use Surf and pound Tentacruel with water. It didn't work, as Tentacruel pounded through the Surf and hit Seadra. Seadra tried to use Ice Beam, but Tentacruel's tentacles were faster, gripping Seadra so it couldn't attack. Seadra struggled to break free, but the jellyfish used its tentacles to paralyze Seadra. Letting go, Tentacruel watched as Seadra fell into the sea.
"Seadra! No!" I yelled.
Above the battle site, Kataki was pleased.
"Mewtwo use Mist now" he said gently.
The psychic powered up and released a thick, white fog. We had no idea what was going on when we suddenly fell into the water. When the mist disipated, we saw all of our Pokémon above us, being carried off by Mewtwo.
"Tentacruel, Poliwrath, finish them off and come back in here. We have to get going soon" Kataki yelled down. Gligar flew up to its trainer and sat on his shoulder.
The two Pokémon nodded and proceeded to swim towards us. Just perfect. We're barely swimming in raging waters, with no Pokémon to help us and two towering over us, ready to kill us at a moment's notice.
"Now what?" I asked.
I didn't have time for a reply, as Tentacruel struck first, sending several tentacles at us.
