Happy Birthday to me??
I guess not.
I’m really, really sad and feeling so hurt.
Michael didn’t even bother to send so much as a two-word note.
Would it have taken so much effort to do that?
Work today was exceptionally horrible.
There were no subs to be had, and several missing teachers, so somehow I ended up being a sub for two different people.
It was no fun at all. Except in one class where a little boy came up to me and said, "I forgot to tell Mrs. O, but it’s my birthday and I have cupcakes for the class." In that it was Friday I wasn’t sure if it was his birthday today or if it was this weekend, so I asked and he told me it was today. I told him that it was mine too, so we abandoned all the lesson plans and had cupcakes.
The kids thought it was great that it was my birthday too, so that was kind of cute.
I did get nice cards and gifts from two of my office mates. I got some bath relaxing type scrubs and one of those cooling ice masks for the eyes. I also got a big pot of pansies and the little girl I do the reading program with gave me a smaller pot of pansies.
That was nice. I just love pansies.
Dee and I went out for lobster dinner and that was great! We had a wonderful meal (I love lobster!) and I had a birthday brownie serenade as well.
When we first got to the restaurant they were singing happy birthday to the woman who is was in the booth behind me. It was kind of neat to meet a person who had the same birthday.
Dee gave me a pin and a couple of cute magnets. I love the pin. It’s a moon and is made from the millifiore fimo. I love moons and suns. My favorite fabric is a design from colonial American called Winterhur.
When I got home from dinner there were individual messages from every member of my family, so I had to call everyone back. I love having the chance to talk to Matilda and Keith. They are so entertaining. Matilda sang "Happy Birthday" (cha-cha-cha) at least six times.
Isn’t it sad that the fact that I haven’t heard from Michael overrides all the other things that happened today!

Trivia: Where's the largest pipe organ in the world?
Built between 1929 and 1932, the largest pipe organ in the world is the Atlantic City Convention Hall Organ, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, it is also the largest and loudest musical instrument ever constructed. The monster music maker has 336 stops (tuned sets of pipes that form musical voice settings), and is powered by blowers totaling more than 600 horsepower. The exact number of pipes is not known; the quoted figure is 33,112 but some experts estimate the number at more than 32,000. The main playing console, which is surrounded by art-deco columns with stylized flames on top, boasts seven keyboards and rank upon rank of stop controls. There are six large foot pedals and dozens of small ones. The pipes are located in chambers that fully surround the auditorium, so the audience is completely immersed in the musical experience.
