Taking advice
So I decided to take the advice that everyone at work has been so quick to dispense this morning. I'd cough (OK, go into spasms) and someone would say, "why are you here? Go Home!"
So finally, at noon, I did! I think they may still be in the state of shock because I just looked at the person who said it, answered, "I think I will" and left!
So I guess I'll just park myself here for a while and swig back some codeine to see if I can stop hacking.
Of course then I still have to be at rehearsal for 7 o'clock. I can't sing (obviously) but I can sit out and work on fixing choreography and making sure that the faces are looking involved.
I’d better go take that cough medicine now so I can sleep it off and be alert when I have to drive to rehearsal.

Trivia: How are diamonds formed?
Natural diamonds are formed at least 150 kilometers deep in the Earth (93 miles) where the heat and pressure are great enough to squeeze carbon atoms together into the diamonds' tight crystal structure. How do they get to the surface? Almost all diamonds mined today are collected from "diamond pipes," deep channels of a kind of volcanic rock called kimberlite or blueground. These structures started as nearly vertical columns of magma that pushed their way up carrying diamonds formed much deeper, and solidified in place. The most well known kimberlite pipes are in South Africa. Most mined diamonds are of low quality, suitable for use in industrial abrasives. These are called "boart." The gem quality stones are only 15 to 20 percent of those mined.

Forced to make a presentation to the class about your summer vacation, you may have wished you were more voluble. Someone who is described by this adjective speaks with confidence. These talkative individuals are fluent in speech, uttering their words smoothly. Example: "A voluble speaker, Paul approached every debate with enthusiasm." A second meaning of voluble traces back to the literal meaning of its root word volvere. The Latin word meant to roll, to turn around. It evolved into volubilis, which in the 15th century became voluble and still describes something that is easily set in motion. Others in the family of English words that go back to Latin volvere include:

- revolve - to rotate
- involve - to include
