Wishing Upon A Star

November 14
Over

The show is over.

Thank God.

I guess it went all right, but I was too worried about the various components to be sure. I had been up since about five this morning because I started having dreams about the show where everything started going wrong. That’s typical, but led to too little sleep.

I’m really too tired to go into a full post mortem right now. I left here at 9.30 this morning and didn’t get back until after 8 this evening. I hung the backdrop, decorated tables, dealt with the light and sound guys, and kept an eye on Keith.

He was the highlight of the day for me. He did a great job and I loved having him on the stage. I think it did a lot for his self-confidence too. I just love that kid.

There were some aggravations, the main one being that Dee, my co-chair, didn’t show up until well after 11, when she should have been there to help me at 10. Then when the show was done, she sat while I climbed and took down the drop and packed it up. Big help.

I’m feeling very martyr-like, but I know it’s because I’m over tired and every bond and muscle in my body aches. So I’ll go into more of this tomorrow.

I’m too tired to try to find the cool word and the trivia, so I’m going to skip that for now.

Bottom line is that the audience seemed to like the show, and it pretty much went off as planned, with only a couple of minor hitches.

It’s done and I do not plan to do this again, in a loooong time. I’ll come and I’ll song and I’ll go home. That’s it.

Now it’s time for Advil and my electric blanket.
