My name is Logan Ross |
I weighed just 5 1/2 pounds, and |
I surprised everyone by coming into this big world
2 weeks early. I get so much attention from everyone,
I just love it! I can't wait to be big enough to hug everyone back, and show them just how much I love them too! A friend of my Gramma's (Sweetsue48@aol.com) made this page for me. Mommy and Daddy also made a page.....well, they helped me...it's at the bottom of this page. I hope you enjoy your visit here.
Help Me give my children the best...not of trappings or toys, but of myself, cherishing them on good days and bad, theirs and mine.
Teach Me to accept them for who they are, not for what they do; to listen to what they say, if only so they will listen to me; to encourage their goals, not mine; and please, let me laugh with them and be silly.
Let Me give them a home where respect is the cornerstone, integrity the foundation, and there is enough happiness to raise the roof.
May I give them the courage to be true to themselves; the independence to take care of themselves and the faith to believe in a power much greater than their own.
See That I discipline my children without demeaning them, demand good manners without forgetting my own and let them know they have limitless love, no matter what they do.
Let Me feed them properly, clothe them adequately and have enough to give them small allowances... not for the work they do but the pleasure they bring... and let me be moderate in all these things, so the joy of getting will help them discover the joy of giving.
See That their responsibilities are real but not burdensome, that my expectations are high but not overwhelming and that my thanks and praise are thoughtful and given when they're due.
Help Me teach them that excellence is work's real reward, and not the glory it brings. But when it comes.. and it will.. let me revel in each honor, however small, without once pretending that it's mine; my children are glories enough.
Above all, let me ground these children so well that I can dare to let them go. And may they be so blessed..
I loved you from the very start,
You stole my breath, embraced my heart.
Our life together has just begun,
You're part of me my little one.
As mother with child, each day I grew,
My mind was filled with thoughts of you.
I'd daydream of the things we'd share,
Like late-night bottles and teddy bears.
Like first steps and skinned knees,
Like bedtime stories and ABCs.
I thought of things you'd want to know,
Like how birds fly and flowers grow.
I thought of lessons I'd need to share,
Like standing tall and playing fair.
When I first saw your precious face,
I prayed your life be touched with grace.
I thanked the angels from above,
And promised you unending love.
Each night I lay you down to sleep,
I gently kiss your head and cheek.
I count your little fingers and toes,
I memorize your eyes and nose.
I linger at your nursery door,
Awed each day I love you more.
Through misty eyes, I dim the light,
I whisper "I love you" every night.
I loved you from the very start,
You stole my breath, embraced my heart.
As mother and child our journey's begun,
My heart's yours forever my little one.
Love is a Place
in which we confide ...
Our inner most feelings ...
with no truths to hide.
Love is a Place

pass from my heart ~ to your heart ...
when I think of you!

where happiness grows ...
A place to come home to ...
to forget all life's woes.

How Love Raises Children
Tonight you read my favorite story to me again,
I love to snuggle and listen to the familiar words.
I know youve read it to me a hundred times,
But I love it when you read it again,
The words all say, "I love you", to me.
Today you asked me how my day was.
You didnt want to hear if I was good or bad,
Or if I did all my schoolwork.
You wanted to know if I had a great day,
And if I learned anything new.
I love it when you ask me that,
The words all say, "I love you", to me.
This afternoon, you hung my picture on the fridge.
I know its just a scribble, but I like the colors.
You said it was beautiful,
And hung it right in the middle,
And told Grandma on the phone,
That I drew it just for you.
And those words all said, "I love you" to me.
Tonight you made brownies for dessert,
I told you once upon a time that they were my favorite.
Every time you bake them, I think you remember that.
And when you tell me we have brownies for dessert tonight,
Those words all say, "I love you", to me.
When it was bedtime, you came and said my prayers with me.
I remember how I used to not know what to say.
But you taught me how to talk to God
Like Hes a good friend, and always there for me.
And when we say our "God Blesses" together.
Those words all say, "I love you", to me.
I just saw you come in my room,
Im almost sound asleep now,
But I felt you kiss me,
And smooth my blankets,
And your touch says to me, "I love you"
I love you.
I love you too.
Children Learn What They Live
If a child lives with criticism, he learns to condemn.
If a child lives with hostility, he learns to fight.
If a child lives with ridicule, he learns to be shy.
If a child lives with shame, he learns to feel guilty.
If a child lives with tolerance, he learns to be patient.
If a child lives with encouragement, he learns confidence.
If a child lives with praise, he learns to appreciate.
If a child lives with fairness, he learns justice.
If a child lives with security, he learns to have faith.
If a child lives with approval, he learns to like himself.
If a child lives with acceptance, and friendship,
he learns to find love in the world.

This Child Of Mine
Edgar A. Guest
I'll lend you for a little time,
a child of mine. He said,
For you to love while he lives,
and mourn for when he's dead.
It may be six or seven years,
or twenty-two or three.
But will you, till I call him back,
take care of him for Me?
He'll bring his charms to gladden you,
and shall his stay be brief,
You'll have his lovely memories
as solace for your grief."
"I cannot promise he will stay,
since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there,
I want this child to learn.
I've looked the wide world over
in my search for teachers true,
And from the throngs that crowd life's lane,
I have selected you.
Now will you give him all your love,
nor think the labor vain,
Nor hate Me when I come to call
him back again?"
I fancied that I heard them say:
"Dear Lord, thy will be done."
For all the joy Thy child shall bring,
the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness,
we'll love him while we may,
And for all the happiness we've known,
forever grateful stay;
But shall the angels call for him
much sooner than we've planned;
We'll brave the bitter grief that
comes and try and understand.
Logan was born with a heart murmur,
and also a condition known as Tetralogy of Fallot.
