| Four years after
Keith Ouellette bragged about the possibility of an Ouellette Sweep of the
HFT singles and doubles championship, a more humble brother tandem finally
broke through for their first doubles championship. Greg and Keith,
who between them have combined for three singles titles, teamed up again for
the first time since they were upset in the first round of the 2003 Doubles
Tournament by Kenny Stuart and their sister, Gina Ouellette.

| The 2006 Halloween Foosball Doubles Tournament featured 8 teams, although one dropped out before they were able to play a game. Nick & Kyle teamed up for the 5th time in 6 years, while the teams of Jim & Wilson and Greg & Keith each teamed up for a third time. The other five teams were first time pairings, including Sam & Holly, Jerry & Colin, and the team of Lucky & Daniel that never got to play. Finally there was the outstanding question of who 4 time doubles champion, Steve, would team with, now that his partner Corey was in Florida. The choice ended up being Kenny and the two that he passed over, C.K. and Alex teamed up instead. And of course, those two teams would meet in the first round, where the newcomers Alex and CK defeated Steve and Kenny 5-3 in what had to be at least considered somewhat of an upset. But it would have been nothing compared to the near-upset when the 2003 Doubles champions, Nick and Kyle came extremely close to losing to the team of Sam and Holly. The game went deep into overtime before Nick & Kyle escaped with an 8-6 victory. The Ouellette brothers faced a little bit of a scare against Colin & Jerry, but advanced 5-3. Since no replacement could be found for Dan & Lucky, Jim & Wilson advanced to the semi-finals, although they would have preferred to have the opportunity to work on their teamwork with a first round match... |

The semi-finals featured matchups of Nick & Kyle vs. CK & Alex and Jim & Wilson vs. Greg & Keith. After struggling to get by a couple of girls in the firs round, Nick & Kyle crushed the team that would include the eventual singles champion 7-1. Jim & Wilson struggled in their semi-final against Greg & Keith and the Ouellette brothers reached the HFT Doubles final for a second time
