The 2003 Virtual Halloween Foosball Tournament
Its back! The popular online foosball tournament which theoretically pits all the names from Halloween Foosball Tournament history into a huge tournament to declare the ultimate winner. The only difference however, is instead of these matches actually taking place, you, the people get to vote for who you think would win the foosball match. The person in each match with the most votes wins.
This year we've added a new dimension to the VHFT. Instead of it being a regular single elimination tournament like the actual Halloween Foosball Tournament and the first two online ones, in honor of the FIFA Women's World Cup going on right now, we've decided to adopt a similar style. The first set of matches will be conducted in a round robin format. It was almost perfect. The World Cup, of course has 32 teams. In HFT history, 31 different competitors have participated. So we just had to improvise. Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle, Booger McFarland was invited to be the 32nd participant, but he got injured and was unable to take part in it. So instead we'll just stick with 31. Corey Pinkham's Group A will only consist of 3 players, while the other 7 groups will have four. The top two in each group will advance to the round of 16. From there, the tournament will continue in a single elimination format. Total votes within a group will serve as tiebreakers if it is necessary.
The seedings in this tournament are not based on the Julia Gulia Ranking System, Greg Poll, CTHD or any of the other official Halloween Foosball Tournament rankings. Instead, they are based on RPI (Rating Percentage Index: 50% Winning Percentage, 25% Opponents' Winning Percentage, and 25% Opponents' Opponents Winning Percentage)
