  1.)For the Remission of Sins !

Mark 1:4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
Luke 3:3 And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Remittion to Remit: 1a. to release from the guilt or penalty of: Pardon <remit sins>

This clearly speaks of water baptism that remits sins, and that is baptism to remit sins, I am not a Greek scholar but if you look at the Greek words for the Remittion of sins they are identical in Mark, Luke, and Acts indicate that baptism is unto remission or in other words water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ remits or Acts 22:16 would be a contradiction un the Bible !!!! Or John the Baptist would be saying be baptized because your sins are already remitted, as I have seen some explanations on (for) in Acts 2:38

I will include a quote from my Bible program for the word for, and you can see how they try to hide or cover the importance of what baptism does, you study it out and make up your own mind. You look at it and make up your own mind. Sorry but for some reason I cannot show you the original Greek but I will show what I can. But if you have a Bible program in your computer you will see for yourself.

Matthew 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Mark 1:4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

Luke 3:3 And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

The following is found in my Bible Program and if you look at it the way it is stated you will be confused and not find the truth Here it is: "For" (as used in #Ac 2:38 "for the forgiveness...") could have two meanings. If you saw a poster saying "Jesse James wanted for robbery", "for" could mean Jesse is wanted so he can commit a robbery, or is wanted because he has committed a robbery. The later sense is the correct one. So too in this passage, the word "for" signifies an action in the past. Otherwise, it would violate the entire tenor of the NT teaching on salvation by grace and not by works.

In other words if you use this reasoning in Mark Luke and Matthew Jesus died because our sins were already remitted. Why would they do this, I wrote a letter to a very famous radio preacher who used this quote and showed him what I think the word meant and he would not answer me. If you look at the Strongs explanation you will see that his statement he contradicts himself. That would mean that Jesus Christ died on the cross because my sin were already forgiven.

1519 eiv eis ice a primary preposition; TDNT-2:420,211; prep

AV-into 573, to 281, unto 207, for 140, in 138, on 58, toward 29, against 26, misc 322; 1774

1) into, unto, to, towards, for, among ++++

 2.) Baptized into Christ, we put on Christ

Romans 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

Galatians 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

  3.) Washes away sins: speaking of water baptism washing away sins remitting in the name of Jesus that is why you call on the name of the Lord.

Acts 22:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

   4.) It is the New Testament Circumcision, God does the cutting away, that is why you buried in water calling on the name of Jesus Christ having your sins remitted. Just like Romans the sixth chapter. Born of water and the Spirit.

Colossians 3:
9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
13 ¶ And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

 5.) For a good conscience toward God

1 Peter 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
21 ¶ The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

They speak of water baptism as part of salvation, many have said the the baptism they speak of is Spirit, does this agree with what you have already read, which speaks being part of the salvation plan.

Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved. I this part of the salvation plan? More on Mark 16:16 later

Many preachers water down the message the Apostles preached, they forget about the water in baptism and the saving name of Jesus Christ.
