Ephesians 2:
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the
exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through
Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace are ye
saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
This how they were born again of
water and Spirit in Ephesus
Acts 19:
1 ¶ And it came to pass, that, while Apollos
was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to
Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy
Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much
as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye
baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the
baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should
believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
5 When they heard this, they
were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the
Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
7 And all the men were about twelve.
Paul clearly preached water
baptism (birth of water) in the name of Jesus Christ because that is
how they are baptized and birth of Spirit because they received the
Holy Ghost
Paul who wrote there is another
Spirit, another gospel that was creeping in even in his day.
2 Corinthians 11:4 For
if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached,
or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received,
or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well
bear with him.
Galatians 1:6 ¶ I
marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the
grace of Christ unto another gospel:
There is one baptism (water) and one Spirit the Holy
Spirit that the church receives
Ephesians 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit,
even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and
through all, and in you all.
7 But unto every one of us is given grace according
to the measure of the gift of Christ.
What Peter, Philip and Paul
preached was the one Gospel, one plan of salvation.
