Annetta and Albert lived during the Civil War on Niggletwist a branch of
Lockharts Fork of Sand Creek. In 1866 he became the first merchant at what
is now Lockhart and in the same year helped to establish the Lockhart Post
Office with himself as postmaster. He was engaged in the timber business,
farming and stock raising. At the time of his death he owned approx. 1000
acres of land in Jackson and Wirt counties. He also o[perated a water
powered grist mill in Jacksohn Co. and later a steam powered mill.
