About the Hasegawa model:

This kit was actually a spontaneous gift from uncle; he just said "Do you want an F-111? Then here you go." (Thanks!) It's an EXCELLENT kit, like most all Hasegawa products. Most of the problems I encountered were due to improper storage rather than design flaws. I will say that the wings do NOT sweep (neither to the wings on Hasegawa Tomcats), and comes with no weapons. Any armament will have to come from your own stocks or from aftermarket weapons sets made (conveniently) by Hasegawa. Besides that, I can recall no problems with this. Just be careful with the main landing gear; it's very complicated and fragile. fan.

About the F-111:

Having the distinction of being the first aircraft to be put into production with variable geometry "swing wings," the General Dynamics F-111 provided the mainstay of the US Air Force's tactical strike capability for almost 20 years. The variable-sweep wings allow the aircraft to fly extremely fast at low level, thus avoiding the worst of the ground fire it would encounter against heavily defended targets. A few early aircraft have been modified by Grumman to the EF-111A "Raven," or "Electric Fox" standard as dedicated ECM jamming aircraft. The F-111 was initially deployed to Takhli AFB in Thailand for testing under war conditions during the Vietnam War. After a shaky start, the plane soon proved devastating in the blind first-pass attack role.
