Chapter Introduction

Like previous versions of Windows, Windows XP includes a number of options to help people who have disabilities that make using a computer difficult. In some cases, people without disabilities may also find the accessibility options useful. The options include settings for your keyboard, sound, display, and mouse.

To set your accessibility options, you can use the Accessibility Wizard, described in this chapter. (You may need to install the options from your Windows XP CD-ROM first.) After you set your options, you can turn them on and off by using the Accessibility Options dialog box, the icons that appear in the notification area on your taskbar, or the Utility Manager. Internet Explorer (Windows's Web browser) has additional accessibility options.
