The Bottlenose Dolphin

PART 1

The Bottlenose Dolphin's scientific name is Tursiops truncatus , it is the most commonly known dolphin.

This type of dolphin is often sighted from small boats off the coast of e.g.Australia.

Bottlenose dolphins are the largest of the beaked dolphins. Their bodies are a dark grey colour with a pink belly underneath.

Dolphins are usually between 6 - 9 feet long at maturity.

The exact number of bottlenose dolphins is unknown, however they are found world wide in many types of water, in general they are often found in coastal waters throughout the world.
