In International Baccalaureate Math courses, students engage in projects that relate what they learn in the classroom to real-life. Through Mathematical Modeling projects, the students attempt to find equations that model different types of data. Through Investigation, the students learn about the behavior of functions as variables are manipulated. The use of technology to carry out such projects is highly promoted.

The candidates will be assessed according to the following criteria:

A: Use of notation and terminology
B: Communication
C: Mathematical Content
D: Results and Conclusion
E: Making Conjectures *
F: Use of technology *

* At least one of the assignments must include this criterion
A total of 10 hours will be allocated in class for the implementation of the portfolio requirements.
