Aberdeen station on the old B & O. What a mess!! It is a shame to
let this structure go. It is located on W. Belair Ave. about 3 blocks west of Rt. 40.
The light is good from morning until late afternoon in the Summer. Shot 9/01/01.

Q216 Another day, another string of autoracks. I had a really nice day
to shoot a few more photos at the station. I needed to relax and get away from
the news after the tragic terrorist attacks.
|
K651 Maybe. It wasn't a unit train but it did have some juice cars
stuck on the end. There were some
orange ones
and some
white ones.
It was pretty much a mixed bag.

Q173 I think. I know Q174 was still in Baltimore. Lighting was tough for
westbounds at around 10AM or so. It's my understanding this grade crossing equipment
is going to be replaced with something more modern very soon.
|
Q217 autoracks westbound. Notice the white roof on 8058. I used a polarizing filter on my Olympus C3040Z digital
camera. It improves the color and cuts down on glare. Sometimes it's too dark and
I have to fix them up in software. But I prefer the camera to do it right.

Westbound with an X-Conrail SD60 on the head end rumbles past the
Moose Lodge in Aberdeen, MD. We got about 6 inches of snow on thurs. 02/22/01
so I thought I would shoot some pictures on Friday.
|
Standard cab Dash-8 heads east at the Moose Lodge. Traffic was light
on this snowy Friday in January 2001. I didn't move much.
|
Dash 8 wide cab leads this manifest train west at the Moose Lodge.
I like this spot because there is parking and it is low on traffic noise. That
helps for shooting video.
|
Dumpsters These trash dumpsters look brand new. These shots were taken
from the Moose parking lot across the street from the library and fire station.
It's a good spot until around 1PM.
