The first listings for the Flannery surname (any spelling)were found in the 1850 Maryland census, in Baltimore City.
Occurrences of Flannerys were sporadic in the 1850 and 1860 censuses, despite evidence that at least three distinct Flannery family units were
in Baltimore during those years. Several sources (city
directory, baptism, marriage, burial,and/or obituary records) give a real sense of where and when Flannerys were found in
Baltimore during these early years.
