"Please fasten your seatbelt. We are getting ready to land in Tulsa, Oklahoma."
Terry rubbed her eyes and sat up. She couldn't believe she had fallen asleep for the last hour of the plane ride. At least she would finally be able to walk around. Her butt was ing her. After the plane landed, Terry walked into the waiting room. After a while, a young woman in a business suit walked up to her.
"Terry Mason?," the woman asked.
She nodded, unsmiling.
"I'm Fran. I'm here to take you to the Hansons. Lets go get your luggage, all right?"
Terry nodded again, letting the woman talk, which she did the entire ride from the airport. On occasion, Terry would nod and say " uh-huh", pretending to be paying attention. She wondered why the woman was being so friendly. She was just doing her job, nothing more. But she didn't want to insult the woman, so she stayed polite.
"Here we are!," Fran announced cheerfully.
"A little small for nine people, isn't it?," Terry asked, staring at a small, one story house of average size.
"I suppose it is," Fran replied, " but they tend to work things out. I mean, they are a little cramped, what with everyone sharing rooms, but they all get along really well, so it all really works out."
"Where am I gonna sleep?," Terry asked, hope in her eyes. It sounded like they didn't have room for her! Maybe she could go home after all!
Fran saw the look on her face, and knew what she was thinking.
"I don't know," she answered," but Diana told me that they worked it all out, so you're still staying. Go ahead and get your stuff."
I look at you and anticipate
What we could be and what we could do
Fly with the wings of an eagle
Glide along with the wind
No matter how high,
I'll be thinking of you the whole time
I'm carrying this heavy load-
"Taylor!"
"Sorry guys. Guess I'm just nervous."
"Boy, and you say I'm driving you crazy!," Zac exclaimed, " Tay, you sing that chorus twice, not once, twice. At least I didn't mess up on any song just because I'm nervous!'
"Yeah, you just mess up on purpose!," Isaac quipped, " Unlike Tay!"
"Okay, okay. I'm going to get something to drink. You guys want anything?," Taylor asked.
"Nah!"
"No thanks!"
Taylor shrugged, then walked out of the garage and into the kitchen. He took a can of root out of the refrigerator and drank the whole can in one gulp (someone sure was thirsty).
DING DONG!
All right! That must be her! Taylor thought. He opened the door and saw his mother's friend, Fran and a who appeared to be about fifteen. He smiled and greeted Fran. Then, still smiling, he turned to the .
"Hi, Taylor Hanson"
The looked a little surprised, then gave a faint smile and shook Taylor's hand.
"Terry Mason."
