1 Cup of Butter 2 Cups light brown sugar 2 Eggs - unbeaten 3 1/2 cups of flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. Baking Soda 1/2 tsp. Baking Powder 1 tsp. Vanilla
Combine all ingredients, roll out thin and cut into shapes.
Bake on a cookie sheet in a 375 degree oven for 7 minutes.
My mother used to make these in very large quantities.
She spent a great amount of effort icing them in the
shapes of Santa Claus, trees, wreaths and stars.
I think they improve when they start to soften a bit
after storage in a can for a few days.
