Season of Fools V: The Emperor

THE EMPEROR -- the fire sign, manifesting self-assertion, authority, power.

"Can you hear the stars?" a sing song voice asked from the shadows of an
alleyway as Faith passed by. She stopped and turned to stare into the shadows
until her demon's senses caught the smell of jasmine and the sight of a tall
lithe figure huddled near the wall.

"The stars don't talk, lady," Faith commented as the figure stood and stepped
forward slightly.

"Oh, but they do. Only to me," the lady stepped into the light of the small
street lamp at the end of the alley. Her red velvet dress was torn and her
hair
was matted. "I'm the moon's princess," the woman replied, swaying slightly
with
a hand pressed to her temple.

"Yeah, that's nice," Faith commented, turning away.

"You smell like her," the woman suddenly stated; Faith turned back to the
woman with her eyes narrowed. "You smell like the Slayer," she added; the
woman stepped forward and picked up a piece of Faith's hair. The woman
inhaled the scent then smiled. "My Angel," she smiled dreamily. Faith
bristled back and pushed the lady away into a wall.

"You don't want to mess with me," Faith growled, letting her demon take
control; the woman cocked her head and pouted. Then with a giggle she
let her own demon come out. The two vampires surveyed each other; Faith
warily, the other with growing interest.

"My Spike's gone all away," the woman muttered, and Faith let her human
mask come into place as she smirked.

"The infamous Drusilla," she grinned, ideas running through her mind. She
paced around Dru, watching her and calculating the best way to confront
the vampire. Dru gave her an excuse.

"My dress is torn," she proclaimed suddenly her human mask falling into
place.

"I could get you a new one," Faith offered, and the vampire met her eyes.
"Several new ones." Dru smiled.

"And a doll? Miss Edith was bad and had to be punished." Faith nodded
and held out her hand. "Do you know where my Spike is?" Dru asked as
they began to walk down the street with Faith leading Dru by the hand.

"Oh, I think I have an idea."
