Season Two

Born to Hang
Jimmy meets a freeborn black man named Noah Dixon, and the two ride along with Stagecaoch Sally, a woman who saved Noah when he was a child. Sally is now on a mission to take runaway slaves to Africa. Sally gets killed by a man who was trying to steal the gold that Sally needed to pay for the trip to Africa. After a gunfight with the men who tried to steal the gold and caused Sally's death, the runaway slaves finally get their freedom. Noah decides to stay in Sweetwater and work as a Pony Express rider. Meanwhile, the riders need a new housekeeper to replace Emma. Sam and Emma have gotten married and moved away. Teaspoon hires Rachel Dunn as their new housekeeper.

Ghosts
A tragic incident from the past haunts Rachel, who forms a special bond with Lou. Rachel had been wrongfully charged with murder after she shot a man in self-defence after her husband, Henry was killed. The riders help Rachel clear her name. Teaspoon finally finds out Lou's secret, but he allows her to stay on as an Express rider. He now thinks of all the riders as family and that family is more important than the company's rules.

Dead Ringer
A young man is robbing banks using 'Wild Bill Hickok' as an alias. This causes trouble for Jimmy because everyone thinks that Jimmy robbed the banks. Jimmy tries to determine who is trying to frame him by going undercover as a businessman. Jimmy finds out that the bank robber is a man named Muncie. The riders help Jimmy clear his name by positioning themselves in the next bank that Muncie trys to rob. While Muncie is trying to get away, he is shot in the back and killed by a bushwacking bounty hunter who mistakened him for Jimmy. Meanwhile, Cody secretly steals stuff from Buck's spiritual pouch that he wears around his neck. Afterwards, Cody becomes very scared when he starts to believe that his run of bad luck is due to angering the spirits that Buck strongly believes in. When Buck finds out what Cody has done, he puts Cody through a ritual to atone the angry spirits, but the ritual is actually Buck's idea of revenge.

Blood Moon
A disease that people believe is Cholera spreads through Sweetwater. However, the fear among the townspeople may be a bigger problem than the spread of the disease. The townspeople blame a simple-minded young man named Danny. They believe the sickness was caused by a traveling medicine show that Danny traveled along with his friend, Ely. It is later learned that the sickness was caused by food poisoning.

Pride and Prejuice
After guiding the cavalry to a Sioux camp to release white hostages, Buck returns to Sweetwater with a surprise for store owner, William Thomkins-his wife, Sally and daughter, Jennifer. They had been kidnapped by the Indians seven years ago. The reunion isn't exactly a happy one when Thonkins discovers that Sally has married a Sioux tribe leader and Jenny is supposed to marry a young brave named Black Wolf. After being rejected by her husband, Sally goes back to live with the Indians. Sally ends up taking a bullet to save Jenny's life when Black Wolf tries to kill her for breaking their engagment. Jenny leaves Sweetwater on the stage to start a new life for herself.

The Littest Cowboy
Embittered by his handicap, silent Ike lashes out, but his life converges with that of a terminally ill youngster, who has a lust for life and a dessire to meet the Pony Express riders. The young boy, Arther and his mother had escaped from his grandfather who had insisted that the boy was too ill to travel. When Grandfather comes to retrieve his grandson, Arther convinces him that it is best if Arther lives where and how he wishes. Ike and Arther form a special bond.

Blood Money
The riders investiage a currupt marshall named Cole Lambert after a murder suspect turned in by Kid hangs himself under questionable circumstances. Lou goes undercover as a saloon girl dispite Kid's objection. She finds a witness to the murder. The witness reveals that Lambert murdered the saloon girl and framed an innocent man. Kid gets into trouble when Lambert becomes suspious of the riders nosing around his town. He locks up Kid on false charges. The riders create a distraction to get Kid out of jail using Lou as bait. Lou lures Lambert away from the jailhouse so the other riders can rescue Kid. When Lambert dicovers Lou's role in the scheme, he beats her. Lou is able to escape and meets up with the other riders outside of town. Kid calls out Lambert for a showdown. Lambert ends up getting killed.

Requiem For A Hero
Cody meets his western hero, Hezekiah Horn, a writer who feels angry by the development of the west and disturbed by the violence and the Indian police. He feels that the Indians are badly mistreated and he feels responsible because the man who leads the Indian police, John Webster, is actually his son. Horn kills himself but not before he kills John Webster. Meanwhile, Lou and Kid's hemming and hawing seems to be coming to an end when they take serious steps in their relationship.

Bad Company
A reporter named Jennifer Walker comes from the East to write a story about the Pony Express, but she seems more interested in writing a story about Jimmy. Meanwhile, Jimmy is forced into a gunfight and he accidently kills an innocent woman. This causes a huge amount of guilt for Jimmy. Jimmy goes to a lawless town thinking that this is the kind of place he belongs. Upon finding out what has Jimmy so upset, Noah, Kid and the reporter ride out to this town to convice Jimmy that he doesn't really belong in such a place. Jimmy almost gets into a gunfight with the deceased woman's husband, but the grief-stricken man realizes that he is also to blame for what happened.

Star Light Star Bright
The riders fall victum to a conman, who promises them a share in a goldmine. Meanwhile, Thomkins faces the possibility of losing his store to a gambler who won the deed to his store in a card game. The conman, Hap, helps the riders get their money back and helps Thomkins get the deed back by challenging the gambler to a card game. They all spend Christmas with a poor family that would have had a bleak Christmas without the company.

The Play's The Thing
Cody joins a traveling acting troupe. He is unaware that its members are Confederates intent on murdering General Freeman. When the truth is revealed, the riders ride out to Ft. Laramie to save the General from being murdered. They are unable to save the General, but they save Cody from becoming their next victum.

Judgement Day
Cody falls in with bounty hunters who are not what they appear. They are murdering the crooks they catch rather than turning them over to law inforcement. Cody realizes the truth when they try to kill Teaspoon for charges that were dropped 16 years ago. Meanwhile, a vivacious woman named Millie puts a spell on Teaspoon. Lou and Kid consider commitment.

Kansas
A heated Noah heads into slavery territory, where he risks his own freedom to save his old teacher, Jerico Taylor who was enslaved. After Noah loses his own freedom, the other riders go to to Kansas to rescue him. Kid gets a job working for a slave owner so he can keep an eye on Noah. Meanwhile, Rachel tangles with a card shark. She wins a silver saddle. It's the same saddle that used to belong to Noah's father. After Noah and the other riders return to the bunkhouse, Lou and Rachel surprise Noah with his father's saddle.

The Peacemakers
Jimmy defends a religious group called the Peacemakers against a hostile town in which they intend to settle. The Peacemakers want to build a church which is against the townapeoples wishes. A man wants to buy their land. It's later revealed that he was buying land from people who trusted him and then turning over a big profit by selling the land to the railroad.

Daisy
On the run from a riverboat gambler, a small-time hustler, Roger and his precocious daughter, Daisy storm into Sweetwater to see Rachel, his old flame. Daisy, whose nickname is 'Tourble,' steals a ring from Kid's bunk which results in a fist fight between Kid and Jimmy because Kid thinks Jimmy took the ring. Lou and Kid break up in this episode after Lou tells Kid she is not ready for marriage.

Color Blind
After the break up, Kid is sweet on Swetwater's new school teacher, Samantha, who has brought many secrets to town. Kid ends up getting into a dual with a man from Samantha's past. The man turns out to be Samantha's father, and Samantha's friend, Martha, a former slave is revealed to be her mother. Samantha and Martha decide to leave Sweetwater. Meanwhile, Jimmy and Lou go on a run to Willow Springs. While attending a magic show, Lou disappears. Jimmy has to rescue her from an old enemy who wanted to settle a score.

Old Scores
Ike is convinced that he has seen on of the men responsible for the murder of his family. The suspect is now a family man himself. The man turns out to be the same person, but he has turned over a new leaf. Ike dosen't have the heart to turn him in. Meanwhile, the other riders try to track down a mysterious beast that is terrorizing the town. The 'beast' turns out to be a camel.

The Talisman
After a missionary priest calls Teaspoon for help, Teaspoon takes Jimmy, Kid, Noah, and Cody on a mission to save a farming village that is being terrorized by murderous bandits. The bandits want the silver that the farmers found. At first, the farmers feel reluctant to let the riders help them, but they soon begin and trust the riders and they all defeat the bandits. Meanwhile, Buck and Barnette try to protect a woman who is being terrorized by a 'monster' who turns out to be a man who is infatuated by her.

The Noble Chase
Jimmy reluctantly teams up with Jake Colter to chase down a bank robber who has a price on his head but who also has a heart of gold. Chase convinces Jimmy and Jake that he did what he had to do in order to stop illegal activity.

Face of the Enemy
When Teapoon's war-hero, Matthew orders an attack upon the Sioux delegation, the Indians threaten to relaliate. He mistakenly attacks the Sioux thinking that they had attacked his men. It turned out that another tribe was responsible for the attack. Rather than allow the Indians to attack the entire town, Matthew allows the Indians to take him prisoner.

The Exchange
When Teaspoon aranges for the hanging of the murderer and arsonist, Emory Pike, the man's brother, Frank kidnaps Teaspoon's would-be daughter, Amanda and offers an exchange. While Jimmy, Buck, Noah, and the Kangaroo Kid, deliver Emory Pike to Ft. Laramie to the hanging, Teapoon, Cody and Kid go to rescue Amanda. However, the plan doesn't go as planned when Emory Pike escapes hanging. Lou tries to infiltrate Frank Pike's gang, but ends up a prisoner herself. Teaspoon, the riders and the Kangaroo Kid get into a gunfight with Pike's gang after Pike finds out that his brother is dead. Amanda and Lou are rescued.
