Bahamas

As I mentioned in the More About Me page, Kim invited me on her trip to the Bahamas. She won the trip thru a radio contest, she was caller #10! While I may not have been Kim's first choice, I was asked to go with her. Who could say no? It was a four night, weekend trip and was not nearly long enough! It was April of 1998 so the weather down there was nice, I think their rainy season had just ended. We met friends right away, a group from Canada and hung out with them quite a bit in our short time. We went out dancing with them one night and that was a lot of fun. We also went on a snorkel trip, took a trip into the city center (of Naussa) and ate out every night. Conch is the main dish and we ate a lot of that. I thought it was fantastic but maybe a little too chewy! Our time there was much too short and we dreaded having to go back home. I'd like to go back again, the Carribean is one of the most beautiful areas of the world I've seen. Wouldn't it be nice to just live on a beach selling little drinks in coconut shells? Someday...

Sunny Side Up

This is the beach that stretched in front of our hotel, which you can see on the right. The hotel also had two large swimming pools, which was nice. There was a thatched roof bar on the beach, which is where we met our Canadian friends.

Scuba Gear

Ok, so maybe this isn't Kim and I at our best! I think it was the first time that Kim had snorkeled, we both enjoyed it. We took a lot of underwater pictures but none of them really justified the fish!
