Here is a simple experiment to explain
hope and faith:
Salt crystals will begin to grow – making
a very hard, concentrated substance. Those crystals represent faith. If you put
a thing in the glad and drape it over the side, the crystals will grow higher
and higher – until they have a whole new form.
It would take a lot of crushing to break
those crystals and put them back into their old form. So, you can see once
faith has matured it’s very hard to break. If by some unfortunate situation
someone’s faith is broken up – get it back to the water (Holy Spirit!) …and it
will grow again.
John 4:14 “Whoever drinks of the water
that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him
shall become in him a well of water springing up into eternal life.”
You can see that hope is an essential part
of the faith process. It is used in the beginning stages to create the
foundation, along with God’s Holy Spirit – to grow a while new over-coming
faith.
