August 30, 2001 - Dre introduces Truth Hurts
Dr. Dre will release the self-titled debut of his protégée, soul singer Truth Hurts, in October.Production will be handle most of the production but others like R. Kelly, Organized Noize, DJ Quik, and Tim & Bob will also contribute. She also makes an appearance in Dre and Snoop's movie 'The Wash' and will release the first single from Soundtrack 'Benefit Of The Doubt' in September.
August 30, 2001 - Makaveli & Dillinger
Afeni Shakur, mother of slain rapper Tupac Shakur, filed a lawsuit against Daz Dillinger (Delmar Arnaud) on Monday (August 27), seeking unspecified damages. Shakur filed the lawsuit to stop Dillinger's unauthorized release of Makaveli & Dillinger - The EP, which is scheduled for release on Dillinger's DPG Records on December 25. The material was recorded while Dillinger and Tupac Shakur were both signed to Death Row Records in 1995-96. As executor and sole beneficiary of her son's estate, Afeni Shakur owns the rights to his musical compositions and the use of his trademarks, which include 2Pac and Makaveli.

August 25, 2001 - Puffy Keeps Quiet About DeathRow
Looks like P. Diddy doesn’t want to chat about Death Row Records head honcho Suge Knight. In an interview with Details magazine, Diddy refused to talk about the possibility for the former east coast versus west coast rap feud flaring up again. Using his rapier wit and cunning, Diddy deflected the question by saying, “Why don’t you ask Suge Knight?” He went on to say, “Time is money…and you’re wasting my time.”
