Chronologically, Technology can be divided into 3 major periods, based
mostly on the tools of the time. The vast majority of man's time on this
world has been (and still is to some extent, especially in 3rd world
countries)spent in the agricultural era. The Industrial Revolution, generally
starting around 1750, ushered in the age of mechanization, the industrial
period. Just recently, many people believe that we are now beginning
another era, one of Information. Certainly, no one can argue the effect
that the computer and electronic information have had.
