Chapter 20:
"Good morning, Mr. Hanson."

"Good morning, Junie," Taylor said, smiling at his secretary as he passed her desk. "Any calls?"

"Do you remember the band that Ms. Wallace approved about 2 months ago?" she asked.

"Yes, I do. Are they in to record?" Taylor asked.

"Sure are," Junie replied. "Studio 4B."

"Gotcha," Taylor said. "How's Heather?"

"She's being bitchy, sour, and pregnant," Junie replied.

"In other words, she's just being good ol' Heather," Taylor said.

Junie laughed. "That was cruel! I ought to tell her you said that…"

"NO!" Taylor exclaimed. "She hates me enough as it is…"

"She hates everyone," Junie said. "She's my own sister, and she hates me."

"I don't see how Zac puts up with her," Taylor commented.

"It's got to be the sex," Junie said. "I mean, they've got 4 kids, and they ain't been married but 6 years."

Taylor laughed. "Zac would stay with a woman just because she puts out."

"He didn't stay with Ms. Hoe-what's-her-face…"

"Elena? You remember her?"

"How could you forget her?" Junie asked. "I lived in Tulsa for the first 24 years of my life, and Elena Shellburg was there for all but 1 of them. Biggest whore to ever grace T-Town…"

"Oh, we're being so pleasant," Taylor joked. "Talking about people behind their backs. Especially ones like poor Elena who got dumped by Zac, of all people."

"King of Getting Dumped, himself," Junie noted. "I don't see how he always managed to make so many girls hate him. I always thought he was kinda cute in his own little brother type way…"

Taylor laughed. "Zac just wasn't born with the same wily Hanson charms like I was."

"Oooh," Junie said in a low voice. "I've heard about the kinds of trouble your 'charms' have gotten you into before. Especially with a young girl named…Teresa?"

"Huh?" Taylor gasped. He leaned forward across the desk and grabbed her wrists. "What do you know about anybody named Teresa?"

Junie's eyes widened. "What?! I was just kidding!!" She peered closer. "There really was a Teresa that you got into trouble with? Why didn't you ever tell me?! How did I manage to not find out?! I know all the Hanson family secrets…"

Taylor shut his mouth and let go of her arms. Taking a step back, he said, "Nothing. I never got into trouble with a Teresa. Don't know any of those…"

Junie smiled secretively. "Yeah, right." She leaned forward, putting on a totally serious face. "What kind of skeletons do you have stowed away in your closet, Jordan Taylor Hanson?"

Taylor's face blushed a hundred shades of red. "Did you say there's a group recording in 4B?"

"4B," Junie replied.

"Thanks," Taylor said. "Now, if you don't tell anyone about my little 'Teresa' thing, I won't tell anyone you called me or Zac by our first names…"

Junie gasped mockingly. "Teresa?! Who's Teresa?! And did I call you by your first names? Excuse me, Mr. Hanson, I know that is not professional at all, and that I must practice professionalism at all times while on the job, even if my boss has been my best friend since we were in pre-K and he is my brother-in-law…"

Taylor smiled. "Atta girl. You just keep that up, Junie…"

"No problem, Mr. Hanson," Junie said, smiling.

Taylor nodded. "Bye, Junebug."

"Bye, Taytortot."

Taylor left, hoping to get a listen at the group that he had yet to hear, but that he'd heard was good.
