Chapter 6:
Taylor pulled up to the curb and looked from the sheet of paper he'd written her address down on and to the apartment building that rose up above his car. He sighed and then got out, looking up at the old structure. Then he went to the door, and then clicked on the buzzer for apartment 4.

"Hello?" a voice asked.

"It's me, Teresa. Can I come up?" he asked.

"Yes, come on," she replied.

Taylor stepped inside the door, glad to be out of the chilly wet night. He headed to the elevator that took him up to the second floor. He knocked on the door of the apartment marked 4. The door opened a few seconds later. Taylor smiled when he saw Teresa standing there. She looked very pretty. Her hair curled softly around her face and she wore a pair of dark pants, a white button-up shirt, and of course a jacket. She thought he looked equally nice in his dark jeans, black shirt, and dark coat.

"Hi," she said.

"Hey," he replied.

"Um, we can go now," she said. "My mom gave me money before she left…"

"Where'd she go to?" Taylor asked.

"Work," Teresa quickly replied, shutting the door and locking it with a key she tucked back into the purse she had slung over her shoulder. "Let's go?"

"Of course," he said. He offered her his arm, and she looped hers through his. He walked her down the stairs and out the door. She stared at his small, red car in a small state of shock. "This is yours?"

"Well, sorta," Taylor said. "It's actually just a rent car."

"It's nice," she told him.

"Thanks," Taylor said, opening the door for her. "I thought so, too."

She sat down and he shut the door behind her. Then he went around to his side, got in, and started the car. They were soon driving down the road. "I've got the perfect place to go eat. Do you like The Garden?"

"I guess. I've never been there," she said.

Taylor laughed. "You'll love this place."

She found out that it wasn't far from where she lived, and it was actually a place where they served just about everything. She was also amused to learn that she had to order everything they ate, because the waiter didn't understand English and Taylor didn't understand German. It took them quite awhile to serve their food, because it was very busy.

Afterwards, Taylor asked her what she would like to do.

"I don't know," she said. "I've never been out before. I don't know what there is to do."

"Let's go exploring, then," he suggested. "Find something to do."

She consented, and Taylor began to drive around, looking for something of interest. After a while, they found a movie theatre. They went inside to see if they could catch any films. They bought tickets for the show that would be on the soonest, and got seated. It turned out to be an action flick. Taylor liked all the explosions, but had to ask Teresa for translations. It ended, of course, in that the good guy won and got the girl. Afterwards, Taylor took her hand and led her out the door.

"Let's go out," he said to her as they left the theatre.

"We're out, already," she told him. He nodded, and then turned and kissed her. Teresa pulled back after just a second, shocked. "What was that for?"

"I don't know," Taylor shrugged. "I just felt like it."

Teresa didn't know what to say or do, so she didn't say nor do anything. Taylor tugged on her hand and began to walk along. "Let's go for a walk, Miss Wilcombe." Teresa walked along with him. Their hands were joined, and swung back and forth between them.
