Orlando E. Fox, 62 years of age, died Wednesday evening at ???? at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Smith of Battle Creek, following an illness of about a year. Mr. Fox is survived by a wife and nine children, Mrs. John Guthrie, Mrs. Henry Walters, the Misses Lucy and Minnie Fox, George and Marvin Fox of Battle Creek, J. Fox of Newton Township, and Elmer fox of Convis township. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 o'clock from Hebble's chapel. Ensign McClellan will officiate and burial will be made at the Marshall cemetery.

Battle Creek Moon-Journal:
Mrs. Grace Irene Lusk of Marshall passed away Sunday evening at 7:30 o'clock at Nichols hospital, where she had been brought one week ago for treatment. She was 29 years of age and is survived by a husband, C. B. Lusk; five children, four little boys and one girl, the eldest being nine; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Fox of Pxxxxxxx township; five sisters, Mrs. George Smith, Mrs. John Guthrie, Mrs. Henry Walter and the Misses Minnie and Lucy Fox, all of this city; four brothers, Marvin and George of this city, John of Newton township and Elmer Fox who resides at at home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 o'clock at Rebble's chapel. Rev. R. W. Merrill of the Marshall Methodist Episcopal church will be in charge and interment will be made in Oak Ridge cemetery in Marshall.

Para. "(2) That on towit, the second day of July A. D. 1916, the said Grace Lusk, died at Nichols Hospital in the City of Battle Creek, Calhoun County, Michigan."

        This agreement, made and entered into this 20th day of July A.D. 1916, by and between Cyrus E. Lusk, of the City of Marshall, Calhoun County, Michigan, party of the first part, and Orlando A. Fox, of the Township of Convis, Calhoun County, Michigan, party of the second part.
        Whereas, one Grace Lusk, the former wife of Cyrus B. Lusk has recently died, leaving five children, James Richard Lusk, 9 years old; Charles Bennett Lusk 7 years old; Elmer Harold Lusk 5 years old; Carl William Lusk, 3 years old; Dorothy Irene Lusk, 1 ½ years old, of which she was granted the custody by the Circuit Court in Chancery, and whereas said Cyrus B. Lusk is their natural guardian, since the death of Grace Lusk, having been given the custody by order of the court since her death , and whereas he is unable to take care of said children at his home. And whereas the said Grace Lusk left certain household goods of the value of $25.00 and money in the amount of $69.00 after the payment of all debts and funeral expenses. And whereas the said second party Orlando A. Fox, the father of the late Grace Lusk is willing to take and care for the said children for the sum of $16.00 per month, at his home.
        Now therefore in consideration of the said Cyrus B. Lusk turning over to said Orlando A. Fox the household furniture valued at $25.00 and $69.00 cash, the said Orlando A. Fox agrees to take said children and keep and care for them at the rate of $16.00 per month, be(g)inning on the 5th . day of July A.D. 1916, and running until the 1st. day of January 1917. Said Orlando A. Fox further agrees that out of the $69.00 he will buy a good cow and that the title to the same shall remain in said Cyrus B. Lusk until said cow is fully paid for by the support of said children during the term of this contract as herinbefore set forth. It is further understood and agreed however that said Cyrus B. Lusk is to clothe said children himself at his own expense, and that said $16.00 per month is to pay for the keep and board during the term
        It is further understood and agreed by and between the parties that said Orlando A. Fox is to have the care and custody of said children which are now in his possession during the term of this contract, unless said Cyrus B. Lusk can show by good proof that the said children are not receiving the proper care and support or are being ill-treated by said second party. The said second party to have the right a natural parent would to correct and punish said children when necessary.
        The receipt of said household furniture and $69.00 cash is hereby acknowledged by said second part.

        It is further understood and agreed upon by and between the parties hereto that at the expiration of the present term of said contract on the 1st. day of January 1917, that the said contract can be continued in force by the payment in advance of $16.00 per month by Cyrus B. Lusk to Orlando A. Fox, for the support and care of said children.

Funeral Service
The funeral of Benjamin Lusk occurred at 2:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon from the Kelser and More funeral home. Rev. H. A. Shewhart if the Baptist church officiataing. Many beautiful flowers expressed the sympathy of relatives and friends. Burial was given in Oakridge and acting as pall-bearers were Messrs. George Miller, George Kappis, George Rushford, Peter Darnaski, John Hiney and Luke Dowding. Attending the service from away were Richard Lusk, Ann Arbor; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kennedy, Kalamazoo; Mrs. Hattie Matthews, Mr. and Mrs. James Matthews and Frank Lusk, Jackson; Mr. and Mrs. George Smith, Coldwater; Mr. and Mrs. John Fox, Lucile and Clarence Fox, Concord; Mrs. Irene Brown, Albion; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Markham, Homer; and Mrs. Harry Smith, Mrs. Rose Guthrie, Mrs. Lucy Fox and Frank Smith of Battle Creek.
