"Corinne!
Over here!" Brian yelled from down the hall. I turned
around and immediately got pushed over by some frantic
worker. Luckily, I landed on something soft... that
yelled, "Ow!" I looked over my shoulder and smiled at
an irritated Nick Carter.
"Hey Nick... What's up?" I asked him. He gave me a look that just screamed, "get off me." "Hey, It's not my fault these rude stage people knocked me over," I announced as I climbed off his lap. "Yeah, I know. Are you adapting well to the change?" he asked me. "Yeah, you see about as well as I've adapted. No one seems to notice me when I'm walking right in front of them!!" I said irritated, flailing my arms about. Nick smiled at me, and Brian finally came running up. "Corinne, hey, are you ok?" he asked me, breathless from running. "Yeah, luckily I landed right on Nick," I smiled. Brian laughed. "Nick, are you about ready? We have stage call in about 2 minuets, and hair and makeup have been looking for you," Brian said. "Oh crud! I'm going to be late! Damned that stupid makeup room," Nick yelled. "I'll see you guys later!" he shouted as he started running down the hall. "Come with me," Brian said, taking my hand. "I have to be on set in a second. Listen, I have to go home to grab a few things before we head out for Europe and I wanted to know if you'd like to come with me. It would just be for about... 2, maybe 3 days... but you'd have a chance to see my house and maybe visit with BJ and your family for a bit," he offered as we dodged stage crew running back and forth to their required places. "Brian, I would love to go anywhere that's calmer than this!!" I said, following him closely. Someone knocked me in the shoulder and I fell to the ground, but Brian quickly helped me up. "Oh, are you ok? You were about to get trampled on!" he asked as we kept walking. I just rolled my eyes and nodded my head. "OK then," he continued, "I'll book a seat for you too. Pack lightly, and we'll leave late tonight." We finally stepped on-stage, to a much calmer way of life, where we only observed the frantic crew, instead of being caught up in it. Brian put his hands on my arms and rubbed my shoulders. "Are you alright?" he asked. "Yeah, I'm fine," I answered him, rubbing my side. I'd hit the floor more times than I'd care to mention today. "So I should expect staying here late and then flying out sometime in the morning hours?" I asked. "Uh..." Brian started, looking around him. "Yeah, something like that. But it should go by quickly," he answered. "Ok, that's fine. And it's just going to be the two of us leaving?" I questioned again. Brian smiled at me. "Yep, just the two of us." He seemed very satisfied with that, and I did too. "Sounds great!" I told him. We both smiled. "Can I kiss you?" Brian asked. I grinned and shook my head, "yes." Just about the time he leaned in, a voice came through the speakers shouting, "Everybody! On stage! Show starts in 15!" Brian sighed and quickly kissed my forehead. "I'll see you after the show!" he yelled, jogging to the set. I smiled and waved at him. "You know I'll be here!" Brian grinned at me, and ran to his place. They quickly hooked him up with a microphone, Nick came bursting into his place and grabbed a mic, and everyone settled down for the show. "In 5... 4... 3... 2... " the stage crew announced, and everything got silent. I sat down, and watched as Brian blew me a kiss, getting looks from Kevin and AJ. They laughed as the show began. "Corinne? Hey, wake up sweetheart!" Brian whispered. I opened my eyes and met his face. I'd fallen asleep on a small side chair during their long stage rehearsal. I was tired since I'd been up late and woken up early for the past couple of days. "Are you up?" Brian grinned. "'Cause we need to get going!" "Mmm, yeah, I'm up, I'm up," I moaned, sitting up. I yawned as Brian pulled me to my feet and hugged me in his arms. We started walking down the hall, heading straight for the tour bus. "I'm sorry we stayed so late. As soon as we get into the hotel room, get everything you'll need out of your bag and come to my room. Then we'll leave for the airport. Ok?" Brian asked me. "Mmm-hmm" I answered, nodding my head. I was still half asleep, and very much dependent on Brian's support to keep walking. "Hey!" I shouted as AJ and Nick came zooming by, creating havoc wherever they went. Brian and I laughed as we noticed Kevin jogging after them with enough gel in his hair to choke a moose. They were all laughing. "Those guys will never learn!" Brian snickered. We all got loaded onto the bus, and I slept most of the drive to the hotel. When we arrived, it was a mad dash to get ready in time, but Brian and I made it, and set out for the airport. From there on, we started our trip back to Florida. |
