Chapter 14: Phone Call

“Tyler, the phones for you,” Kiaya hollered from the other room.

“Yeah, I’m coming,” Tyler yelled. He paused his video game and found his way out of his room without tripping on any Star Wars memorbila lying on the floor. “Hello?” He said picking up the phone.

“Hey Tyler!” Tracey said.

“Tracey, How are you?” he asked.

“I’m good. You?” she responded.

“Good actually. We’re wrapping up the album. Well, sort of. “ he laughed.

Tracey laughed too. “ Well I called you because I have good news, not because my Mom loves running up the phone bill so let me spit it out. “

“Well now that you mention the phone bill, could you hang out a couple seconds while I finish my video game?” Tyler teased.

“Yeah, I’ll hold my breath,” Tracey told him.

“Funny, so what is it?”

“Well. I was talking to my Mom about my birthday and she said that maybe I could come to the States.” “What?!” Tyler asked excited. “My Mom said that if your parents didn’t mind having me. I could fly down and stay with you guys as a birthday gift. She’s going to call them and talk to them about it because she wants to do it at a time when you guys will be home and not busy, ya know?”

“Tracey! That’s great! Mom always says you guys can come visit whenever you want! I am excited! Yeehaaw!” Tyler yelled.

In the background : “Tyler, can you tell whoever it is you’ll call them back. We need to talk as a family, you can call them back when we’re done. Ok?” Steve told him.

“Tracey, Dad says I’ve got to call you back. It sounds important. I’ll call you as soon as he’s done with his speech. Bye!” and he hung up the phone.

“OK, now that we’re all here,” Steve began. “We got an invitation to visit the Cayman’s and the people who invited us have been kind enough to tell us we could make the trip whenever was most convienent for us. Now, your Mom and I have been thinking and we’ve decided that maybe after the album is done would be a good time. We could take a vacation then and rest up and get ready for all the promotions we’d have coming up after that.”

“Dad, I’ll go to the Cayman’s when ever!” Kiaya told him.

Amanda and Tyler laughed nodding there heads in agreement with Kiaya.

“Alright, I guess we’re done. You can use the phone Tyler,” Chirs told him.

Just then the phone rang. Tracey’s Mom was calling and wanted to talk to Chris. Tyler went back into his room and resumed his video game. In about an hour Steve poked his head in the room and told him to come downstairs after he told Amanda to come down too. Tyler shut down his video game and hollered to Amanda. She came out of her room and went downstairs. “I just talked to Tracey’s Mom and I have an idea. I want to check with you guys first though and get your opinion. Sometimes you guys don’t have the same opportunites as most kids your age do and I know you guys love what you do but you’re Dad and I were talking and we came up with this. The people who invited us to the Cayman’s said we could bring along some friends. We thought maybe if you would want you could each bring 2 friends along for the trip.”

Amanda smiled, “Can I call Brian?” she asked.

Tyler grinned and Kiaya hollered.

Steve looked at Chirs, “I guess we got our answer.”

“What did Tracey’s Mom have to do with it?” Tyler asked.

“Well, she had asked about Tracey coming here for her birthday and I told her we had been discussing the trip and that if you guys wanted to do that than Tracey could come with us too.”
