See how easy it is to pronounce a Chinese character.
Chinese has only 210 sole-sounded characters out of 7,331, according to Prof. Leung Shi-Chu's Chinese-English Dictionary (1992 Taiwan, China). Most of sole-sounded characters are "hi-frequency daily-used characters". Along with sound-alike characters, they can "make up" huge-number phrases and terms for anything you can imagine.
Sole-sounded & sound-alike characters, approximate 5,400, are SUFFICIENT for cultural, scientific, ..., social activities, as well as peoples' daily living. With them China has survived and prospered more than 7,000 year, so it be in the future!
Inported and new technology terms can be "spelled out" by 37-5 characters and / or ZuYin symbols. See examples here.
