Faux Finishes
Faux finishes are valuable decorating
backdrops, which add personality, character, warmth,
and a sense of time and age, pulling your accents and
furnishings together beautifully.
The French term ‘faux’ means
false or fake. In speaking of painted faux finishes,
this would include faux stone, marble, bois (wood),
suede, linen and leather. The term has also been used
to include other special paint techniques such as sponging,
ragging, combing, and color washing.
