Stewart Minnesota Postcards

1908 Greeting Card
This is a nice 1908 Greeting Card. Most of what you see is still around. The Catholic Church, The Lutheran Church (Although its been moved to Brookfield Township) Round Grove Lake, and the C. R. Donaldson Residence. Main Street on the other hand thats changed alot but I'll get into that later.

Birdseye View
This picture look north east towards Hall Street. Alot has changed since this picture was taken. All of the elevators are gone the one in the middle made it till the early 1990's. The depot, water tower, bandstand, and the old school in the distance are also gone. Some of the stores are gone also. The Catholic Church can be seen in the background is still around as are some of the stores but none of them look like this any more.

We Feel Pretty Foxy In Stewart Minnesota
This picture looks east towards Powers Street. Almost everything in this picture is gone. The fourth Building down on the right side of the street is still around as is the second building on the left side of the street although its been moved. The square shaped house towards the middle is still around. But every thing else is gone. most of the spaces are empty lots.

Steam Engine On the Rail Road Tracks
This looks South West towards the Hardware Store and E. M. Hanson & Company Farm Machinery (He sold John Deere and the first car in McLeod County). The water tower has been replaced and the rail road water tank is gone. Hanson's Building was replaced around 1940 by a brick building that was home to the John Deere dealer until 1976 when they moved outside of town to a new building. Its now home to a earth moving buisness. The hardware store is still around although it was remodeled to match the John Deere Dealer. Its still a nice looking building though.
