Marina, Herzelia - 24/3/99

The front passed us to the north and today was the classic "day after the storm". The sandbar at the marina was great, making long wall's peal both left and right from the middle peak. The south peak also had some great waves pealing left.

Place: Herzelia Marina

Time: 5:30am - 8:30am

Size: Shoulder high , dropping quickly to waist high +

Swell: NW

Crowds: at first we were only 5 people in the water, by 8am there were 15. I was surprised to see that until 8 there weren't any surfers in the water, after all today was the first day of spring break. I expected to see all the students in the waters.

Conditions: Offshore wind until 7:30, then it started dying down and by 8 it was side shore (S). The wave was a long right or a shorter left, from the middle peak. At around 6:45 there was a beautifull rainbow over our head, the water was silver, the sky was grey and the rainbow had all the colors, it was amazing...

Wave of the day: A long right which I took from the middle peak all the way to the channel next to the South jetty. On the wave I hit the lip and cutback perfectly several times.
