Marina, Herzelia - 28/12/99

Just as the predictions predicted, we got some good swell today from the deep low pressure over south east europe. The waves were good but I think Herzelia wasn't the right choice, I just didn't have time to drive anywhere else.

Place : Marina Herzelia (Zvulun and Dabush couldn't hold the size).

Time : I surfed from 6:15am until 9:30am and then borrowed a pair of fins from a bodyboarding friend and swam in for 40 min. to shoot some pix.

Size : head high to overhead +

Crowds: until 8:30 we were only 10 surfers in the water. By 9:30 we were 20.

Conditions : The wind was a strong offshore wind that held the wave up. The waves were breaking both left and right (right on the north peak, left on the south peak and both ways on the middle peak). The lefts on the south peak were very long but the rights from the middle peak were more hollow with more wall. The wind started dying down around 8:30 and by 9 there was no wind.

Fun Factor : 8.5 out of 10
