Wisdom is about how we live our lives in this old world, day by day, it's a quality of mind that allows us to distinguish what is important and valuable from what is not, in each one of our lives. So except that fact and make every day a victory of living and loving it ! And don't major in minors but major in living !
In addition, wisdom is :
What helps us realize that we are part of something larger than ourselves. Encourages us to contribute to a common future. Supports generosity of spirit. Helps us to work in the world in positive and healing ways. Gives us a greater sense of who we are and how we fit in the world.
Paradoxically, wisdom helps us take a detached perspective on the events around us. At the same time, we find ourselves more engaged in life and more able to enjoy it, as we seek to pass on what we know is valuable, free from the constraints of constant self-interest folk's and groups.
Cultivating Wisdom, to-day :
What does wisdom look like ? If you ask people you get many responses. Here is one I particularly like about it :
Wisdom is like bonsai tree. Both are natural; both must be cultivated. Since I began interviewing thoughtful and insightful people on wisdom and doing research on it in the last few years, I have arrived at different ways of thinking about wisdom. One thought is, image is a tree.
Picture a tree, if you will :
You see the trunk, the branches, and the leaves. Further, you know that the roots are there too, even though you can¹t see them, providing nutrients, water, and stability.
These parts of the tree represent the three major components of wisdom :
The trunk and branches stand for discernment, that is, deep insight and deep understanding. The leaves show us engagement and compassionate action. Just as they engage with the environment, photosynthesizing light, so wisdom is not complete without caring for the world. The roots stand for strength of character. They are underground and not visible but if they are stunted, the tree cannot stand. So, folk's it is with wisdom also : without character traits such as courage, integrity, and self-knowledge, a person cannot maintain wisdom.

I walked to the attic and opened the door
There were old boxes stacked up on the floor
Winter had passed and it was now spring
With rags and a bucket, I started to clean
A life time of memories and treasures of time
Up in the attic, out of sight out of mind
Each box, each trunk, representing a page
In a Love Story that was cover with age
The dress and the veil that my Grandmother wore
Old pictures and love letters dated back to the war
A music box that plays, " I'll be seeing you, "
While a question attached made her dreams come true
A rose pressed gently in a book of poems
Inside a beaded handbag a set of silver combs
A porcelain doll with a painted face
Dressed all in satin with bows and old lace
On the back wall hangs a wooden sled
The headboard and rails of an old brass bed
A pair of ice skates and a large stuffed bear
And old fishing rods all hung with care
How does one discard memories into a pile
So the boxes stay stacked at least for a while
Not found as bargains set out on the grass
But up in the attic as part of my past
I stood and took one last look around
Walked to the stairs and started back down
Did something strange happen to me up there ?
I never remembered a smile on that bear!

I thank you all for having patience with my work on this site and trust that something I have shared might change your outlook in this life that you live to-day, and if you have never done so, that you would make a commitment to the One who died for you on Calvary's Cross and make Him, your Lord and Saviour.

What a great message of love for this troubled world to-day, when everybody around you seems to be caught up in doubt, fear and lack of trust, to find that there is a place where you can go and find love, peace, trust and blessed assurance for yourself and all of your loved ones.
