William Groome owned 1,000-acre tract "Mount Calvert Manor" including
Charlestown, conveyed by Phillip Calvert in 1660. Originally in Calvert Co.,
the tract became part of Pr. George's Co. when the latter was created. He
also owned additional tracts at the time of his death plus a farme in
England willed to his brother Robert Groome. Sibill (??) Groome had more
children with Jowles.
