Nancy Jane Groom was born Sept. 20, 1852 in Appanoose
County, IA., and departed this life at her home in Grant City, Mo., March 16,
1931, age 78 years, 5 months and 27 days. She was united in marriage to Lenox
Fullerton on March 29, 1871. Three sons and seven daughters were born to this
union. The father, one son and one daughter, proceeded her in death. The father
passed away Aug. 7, 1930. Those who remain to mourn her departures are Mrs.
Cora McKim, Grant City, Mo.; Wm. H., Alexander, North Dakota; Harrison E.,
Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Sadie Harding, Chugwater, Wyo.; Mrs. Catherine Schoening,
Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. May Clevenger, LaGrange, Wyo.: Mrs. Maude Davis,
Indianhill, Wyo., Mrs. Anna King (Oma), Cheyenne, Wyo. Two brothers, Lewis and
David Gilland, Grant City; one sister, Isabelle Robinson, Des Moines, IA. Also
23 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and a host of relative and friends.
She united with the Christian Church at White Oak and lived a faithful
Christian throughout her life. She was a faithful companion, a kind and loving
mother and was loved by all who knew her acquaintances. Funeral services were
conducted at her home in Grant City by Rev. Williams, pastor of the Christain
church; burial at Fletchall cemetery." "Card Of Thanks, We wish to thank all

"Sarah Groom was born on Marion County, Ohio, Aug.
13, 1850, moved from there to Appanoose county, Iowa, where on June 29, 1869,
she was united in marriage to Daniel B. McKim. To this union eight children
were born, five boys and three girls, all of whom are living except one boy who
died in infancy. In 1877 they moved to Missouri locating near Grant City, where
she has lived since, till death called her home to join her husband who died
April 15, 1903. She was converted and joined the Baptist church in 1891, of
which she remained a member until her death. She had no fear of death and after
months of patient suffering calmly fell asleep at 12 o'clock June 7, 1904.
Deceased was a sister of Mrs. Jane Fullerton of this county, and Morrison Groom
of Huntsville, Wash. and a half-sister of Lewis and David Gilland. The funeral
services were conducted by Rev. M.P. Glenn at 10 o'clock yesterday morning and
interment was made in the Fletchall Cemetery. |

"At half past 6 o'clock Sunday morning June 20th 1897
Mrs. Cyntha Ann Hall a pioneer mother died at the residence of W. H. Rees her
son in law near Butteville where she has made her home since 1869 having
reached the advanced age of 92 years 8 months and 18 days. Cyntha Ann Grooms
was born in Clark Co KY, October 2d 1804 where she remained until attaining her
13 year, when her parents removed to Missouri- finally settling near Liberty
Clay County where on July 4th 1824 she was married to James E. Hall. They
continued that residence in that vicinity until April 1845 when they crossed
the plains to Oregon, settling hear Buttevill, in what was then known as
Champoeg- now Marion County- " |
