The affidavit of John Magill upon application for Letters of administration on
the estate of William Groom deceased
This affiant, as far as he knows or believes William Groom died leaving seven
heirs and representatives , whose names are as follows. viz  - James Groom,
Sarah Groom, Aaron Groom, Joseph  Groom, John Groom, Anna Groom & Elizabeth
Groom, residing in Clay County State of Missouri.

William Groom.  acknowledged before me Jan 17 1827, Wm S Smith Judge.
The Affidavid of John Magill upon application for letters of administration on
the estate of William Groom deceased.
The affidavit as far as he knows or believes William Groom died leaving seven
heirs & representatives whose names are as follows. Viz - James Groom, Sarah
Groom, Aaron Groom, Josep Groom, John Groom, Anna Groom & Elizabeth Groom
residing in Clay County, state of Missouri.

County of Clay     }  William S Smith, Judge of probate within and for the
County aforesaid. To all whoe these presents shall come Greeting.  Know ye
that Whereas. William Groom having died intestate as is suggested and John
Magill (who has intermarried with the widow & relict of said deceased)  having
given satisfacotry security and complied with the requistions of the laws I do
by these presents give and grant unto the said John Magill full power and
authority to administer all and singular the goods, chattles, rights and
credits of said deceased; and to ask demand. collect require and receive all
manner of debts due and owing to said deceased. and well and faithfully
dispose of the same according to law and lastly I do hereby appoint the said
John Magil administrator of all and singular the goods, cattles, lands and
tenements.rights & credits of said deceased. whereever the sme may be found
and well and faithfuly dispose of the same according to law. 
In Testimony whereof I have here unto set my hand and affixed my official seal
at office this seventeenth day of janary in the year of our Lord, one thosand
eight hundred and twenty seven & in the fifty first year of the Independance
of the United sates of America

I Sarah McGill heretofore Sarah Grooms do certify the following nmed entries
were reserved by me for my right of Dower in the Estate of William Grooms now
deceased.  filed 20 Mar 1827 
Bond by John Magill as principal and William Groom an Sebren Sneed as
securities acknowledged Jun 17 1827

Know all men by these presents that we John Magill and David P Magill are held
and firmly bound unto the state of Missouri in the penal sum of two hundred &
seventy dollars to the use of Aaron Groom, Joseph, Spencer, John, Anna,
Elizabeth Groom infant children of William Groom decd.
        Acknowledged in open court this 14th day of Nov 1831
Received of John Magill administrator of the Estate of William Groom dec'd the
sum of twenty dollars being the amt or nearly so which I am intitled to by
marriage with Sally Groom daughter of the said William Groom dec'd and one of
the legatees
