The Lord's birthday we celebrate,
But this year many will weep;
For they have lost a loved one,
In their hearts sadness will creep.

Our nation has faced tragedy,
In the guise of holy men;
But God says, "Thou shalt not kill."
So how can they hope to win.

Christmas is a time for joy,
And those killed will still celebrate;
They just won't do it on this earth,
But inside of heaven's gate.

So many went home on that day,
But we can still share their joy;
Even though we miss them greatly,
Remember, they're with the birthday boy.

So, put up your trees and hang the lights,
And bring out the pine and holly;
Set up the nativity with Joseph and Mary,
Hang pictures of the old man so jolly.

Sing out loud when the carols are sung,
Light candles to shine through the night;
Bake the pies and cakes and gingerbread men,
Let's celebrate this Christmas right.

We'll share our bounty with those in need,
And pray for those who are in pain;
We'll show our enemy that we believe,
That all will be right again.
