This is Joe's new web page. He is 16 years old now and really enjoys
the races. He has matured a lot in the last three years and, even
though the rough years are not over, at least there is hope. He
is taking his education far more seriously than before. I think
he will grow to be a terrific person.

This poem was written many years ago when Joe was about four
years old but many parts of it still remain true.

My Boy Joe

Hot wheels race from wall to wall,
And guns make the bad guys fall;
Mickey is his favorite guy,
But his brother-in-law is a close tie.

He wants to fight and be tough stuff,
He's a little ornery, a little rough;
Around pretty girls he gets real shy,
He lowers his head and blinks those eyes.

He's Mama's boy, it's easy to see,
But he's growing more independent of me;
I hoped a carpenter, but a mechanic he'll be,
When outdoors, the grease monkey you see.

A Wal-Mart lover, I want you to know,
He'll drive you crazy when he wants to go;
No other store will ever do,
He's a Wal-Mart lover through and through.

He's growing fast, he's growing tall,
He'll pass us up one and all;
Three sisters to love and treat him well,
Into a bed of roses, this boy fell.

I love this little boy of mine,
And he'll grown to be a man so fine;
He's got enough of Mom and Dad,
To grow to be a real fine lad.

So, when you see my little Joe,
Don't expect an angel, no!
But when he's grown up strong and tall,
Guard your heart, it's gonna fall.
