I have a most precious gift,
Given me by my Lord;
It is called a mother's love,
And it's mightier than a sword.
A mother's love is amazing,
It can be strong as steel;
But then it's soft and gentle,
When a child's heartache you feel.
When my child is in danger,
My mother's love will awake;
I cannot quit fighting the foe,
Until my child is safe.
When my child celebrates
An accomplishment deserved;
A mother's love cheers gloriously,
And happiness is preserved.
When a child's heart breaks,
And from eyes flow the tears;
A mother's love holds that child close,
And stores memories for future years.
Yes, God gave me a special gift,
That bring me to my knees;
That is where I find the answers,
That help grow the seed.
If you have a mother's love,
You know you have a gift;
You won't trade it for anything,
For it gives you such a lift.
When this mother's love you own,
Brings you happiness and sorrow;
You will save up all the treasures,
And bring them out tomorrow.
