Autumn smells are in the air,
Cool temps are randomly showing;
Mums and scarecrows are about,
Our lives seem to be slowing.
The reds, golds and oranges,
Tell us Fall is near;
Halloween will bring its sights
And sounds, frightful to hear.
Thanksgiving fills this season,
We always eat too much;
But we are thankful, too,
That we can celebrate with such.
Autumn is a joyful time,
Children are back in school;
They get to see their little friends,
Classes provide life tools.
But Autumn leads to winter,
With all its ice and snow;
Another beauty for us to see,
If only it weren't so cold.
But once again spring will return,
With hope and sunshine warm;
And we will wake one morn,
To realize we suffered no harm.
