If Jesus wasn't by my side,
To walk me through the fire;
I'm sure I would have burned up,
Or that would be my desire.
But He holds me oh, so close,
And He wipes away my tears;
He lets me rant and rave at Him,
Then He gently calms my fears.
He knows that I'm not perfect,
But He loves me anyway;
He walks with me through the fire,
He's there each and every day.
When hope is so hard to find,
And I feel like giving it all up;
He reaches down and carries me,
I drink from overflow of my cup.
Jesus is definitely my lifeline,
Without Him I would be lost;
He must really love me
For He paid the ultimate cost.
