I have joy in my heart,
Jesus Christ has saved my soul;
I was lost and into sin,
But my Lord paid the toll.

He leads and guides me every day,
He is my strength when life is hard;
He gives me peace and comfort, too,
Even though my life is scarred.


The joy in my heart is real,
It soothes my soul and calms my mind;
Jesus has proven His love for me,
To serve Him I am now resigned.

My days are not always easy,
I sometimes have a flood of tears;
But the joy that fills my heart,
Gives me strength through the years.


You can have joy in your heart,
Just put your trust in God;
Your heart will fill with peace,
Your soul will be totally awed.
