This
is the year of the child they say,
But maybe it's mothers' year;
Talk of war and hostages,
Fills a child's heart with fear.
For only a mother knows the way,
To bring peace of mind to a child;
Her strength is that of the greatest steel,
Her voice is soft and mild.
So here's to mothers everywhere,
May their strength keep our nation strong;
Let children know near and far,
Mothers' hearts to them belong.
