My
Family
The Lord has given me a special gift,
A family that gives life a lift;
When I'm hurting deep inside,
They're there to comfort, there to guide.
We don't always have to agree,
Together we face life with glee;
Our love for each has no bounds,
A family like this is seldom found.
When one of us takes a fall,
It hurts not one but us all;
We encourage each other to do our best,
And let our Lord handle the rest.
When one of us is truly happy,
The rest of us can get real sappy;
Weddings and funerals together we face,
Helping each other is our place.
We send our children out into the world,
With hearts that are open and hopes
unfurled;
But when they need us we are here,
To comfort, guide and dry a tear.
Yes, God gave me the gift of my life,
A family that's there in times of strife;
They will be with me until the end,
Then to my Lord, my soul they'll send.
So when my blessings I count on earth,
I think of my family and their true
worth;
I wouldn't want to face each day,
Without them there to show the way.
