Thanksgiving Again
Thanksgiving Day is once again here,
My blessings I must contemplate;
My Lord has blessed me so well,
He watches over my fate.
In the spring trees dress in green,
Flowers burst forth in bloom;
New birth fills our emerging earth,
Color chases away the winter gloom.
In summer are long, lazy days,
And time spent with friends;
Barbeques and ice cream abound,
Shorts and tee shirts top the trends.
Autumn brings us leaves of gold,
They fall and litter the ground;
As we rake them into piles,
We jump in and laughter abounds.
In autumn we have Thanksgiving,
Families share a special meal;
We thank our God for blessings,
And share how we feel.
Then winter's cold is soon here,
And lights will adorn the yard;
Wreaths and candles we will see,
We receive Christmas cards.
Yes, our blessings are many,
For God loves us and cares;
So, thank You, my mighty God,
For all the blessings You share.
