LACROSSE: The Pep Band's run at the Intramural Lacrosse championship came to an end with a
loss to Sigma Chi, 10-2. We had advanced to the semifinals of the tournament courtesy of
a forfeit by "Logan Is Five One". The team was a bit overmatched versus Sigma Chi, although
after falling behind 7-1 in the first half we pretty much held our own. Goals were scored
by Tim Stone '01 (my old roommate), who scored on an amazing spin move, weaving through
several SigChi defenders and whipping a no-look, backwards shot passed their gaolie, and
myself. Sure, we lost, but it was a hell of a lot of fun.

BOWLING
To my surprise the Pep Band ended up with not one, not two, but THREE bowling teams this year.
We had a men's team (Pep Band) and a women's team (Marching Band) to start the season, but when six guys showed
up for one match and another team forfeited, we ended up commandeering their team, if that makes sense. Thus
Pep Band A and Pep Band B. The season was fun, there were some definite high points for all the teams, but we
all came up short in the playoffs. Ah, well. Outstanding individual performances included Kevin Neely's 154
("whip da ..."), my 188 versus Stinky Nutz, and Missi and Erin's entire seasons. Individuals also improved
greatly over the course of the season.
Team Members:
Pep Band A: "Bongo" Converse, "Nuts" Braham, Franklyn Hu, and "Mel" Neely
Pep Band B: "WTF" Mui, "Shaggy" Zomberg, "Sticky" Bushnaq, and "Igor" Lanford
Marching Band: "Squeak" Marcellus, "Homer" Guynn, "Charlotte" DeRose, "Tribble" Decker
"Buffy" Kelley, "Jumbo" Caouette, "Birdie" Cherry, and that guy from Curtis
(Let me know if I forgot anybody. That's a lot of names to carry around in one's head!)
Coming soon: Soccer Season Retrospective; also TRAP SHOOTING
Tennis: Doug "Chief" Chiarello, Mike "Igor" Lanford, and John
"Shaggy" Zomberg in the men's draw, with John and Doug also competing
as doubles partners. Also Sara Guynn competing for Marching Band in the women's draw.
