KCAR Rocktoberfest '99 Contest Event Results

Since some of the rocketeers who entered the events weren't NAR members on launch day, not everyone will get NAR contest points. Since we have enough model rocket kits to award for first place in each event in the two age divisions present (A & C), I went ahead and applied the NAR scoring factors for each entrant just for the purpose of awarding kits.

In some age divisions of some events there was only one entry. A check of the "United States Model Rocket Sporting Code ("Pink Book") rules reveals that in those cases, NAR points won't be awarded; since we can only combine adjacent age divisions and there were no B division flyers that day (rule 9.6 Minimum Entries). But, I went ahead and listed them for kit prizes anyway.

(FYI: here are the age divisions per rule 8.2: "Division A: 7 through 13 years old; Division B: 14 through 18 years old; Division C: 19 years old and older as of July 1, the start of the Contest Year.")

To determine the grand prize kit award, I used the same NAR points formula (10 points for first, 6 points for second, 4 points for third, 2 points for fourth) times the weighting factor. Here's the totals and the breakdown by event (points in brackets indicate NAR points):
